It's an amazing phenomenon when you spend all your time making such awful doodles and drawings. You gradually accept the fact that your art will never match the likes of those other talented artists, the ones who have professional careers, the ones who went to art school for 8 years and have a master's degree in kickass. You accept the fact that your artwork will inevitably be inferior to everyone else's.
And yet, there comes a point when suddenly you look at a drawing you did, and realize, this isn't actually that bad.
Now, I'm not too happy with the way that shirt sleeve came out, or with those shoes (I suck at drawing shoes), but this was definitely something. And I decided, right there and then, to register to FA and submit this piece as the flagship of my art.
The obstacles were many. First, I had to ink it; I'd never inked any of my pencil drawings before, and it took some time to get both a decent pen and a decent source of light that was also a hard flat surface. Between school, summer, brothers, and everything else, this picture took about four months to get here. I hope it was all worth it, and that there'll be more pieces like this one to follow.
