Fully agree to be honest. I thought it was OK, but didn't even come close to deserving the hype that it got. I don't it was the best movie that came out that year (2016). Not even the best furry movie that came out that year (I thought Kung Fu Panda 3 was better). I didn't feel I had some patriotic duty as a furry to act like it was Citizen Kane or anything lol. Loved the animation and art style, characters were fun, but the plot wasn't original in the slightest. So... not going to try to change your mind. It was good, not great, and yes it was overhyped and a very overrated movie in the furry community. There, I said it, and not ashamed that I did.
Lack subtletly, feels tame (especially when compared to the original version), and the twist villain reveal is dumb (not as dumb as Robert Callaghan )
It's still better than some of the other disney 2010s movies (looking at you, live actions and and ralph break the internet), it has a decent message, even if it hammers you down with the whole thing, judy is not the absolutely perfect disney mary sue introduced during that decade and least it posess better worldbuilding than beastars...
(seriously, how can people watch it? i can't stand a single character from that show, they're umbearable...)
