As far as a lot of those "you look more normal than expected" or "I didn't think you'd look like that" comments go, I'd guess it's because of the social conditioning that tells us that people with unusual interests (like furrydom, and kinky stuff) are going to be fat, hairy guys with creepy expressions.
Personally, I never know what to expect anymore. You look good, tho :)

OMG, at first I thought this was one of the pics from that Yahoo "8 years of my life faster" movie where the one guy took pics of himself for 8 years and then displayed them in hyper fast mode as the movie.
But yeah, um--it's always cool to see the person behind the art that I idolize ^^;
