Inspired by TheScaleTrain's vision of the moldworms from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
***
Talonflame has found himself in quite the predicament. Initially the moldworm seemed uninterested in doing anything other than repeatedly kissing him, which, while it was embarrassing, didn't seem to be any cause for additional alarm. The moldworm pampered him for what seemed like hours, occasionally stroking his regal crest down in a demeaning way with the ball-like tip of its tail, and often squeezing down on him whenever he began squirming, as if letting him know that he wasn't going anywhere.
Talonflame had tried to use a flame-based attack on his captor, but his attempts were stifled by a thick liquid that the worm had been secreting from its body, dampening his feathers to the point where not only could they not produce flames, they would also be useless in any escape attempt even if he did manage to free himself from the rubbery coils. When day turned to night, the worm began regulating when Talonflame could breathe, only allowing him to when the worm had built up another load of toxin in its body, which it then released from its maw at the same time as it loosened its coils, ensuring that when Talonflame breathed, he had no choice but to inhale a beakful of it.
The toxin was laced with a potent chemical that rendered Talonflame as weak as a budgie, and as the once spectacular bird drooped into a submissive posture, too weak to control his powerful body, the worm's lips curled into a smirk. The worm had no intentions of eating such a prize, of course. It would be a waste. No, the worm had other plans for its once mighty captive. As Talonflame's eyes shut and he slumped against the coils, the worm gave him another long kiss, squishing his crest against his back, and then turned its attention back to the cave from which it had come.
The worm slithered back into the depths, taking its new bird with him. Little did Talonflame know, he would not see the sun again for a long time.

Just a quick afternoon thing I wanted to draw, and I've been very keen on Talonflame as of late.
