Oh, do they not completely override the host anymore? I think I remember the early Crown Crab stuff saying that Crown Crabs totally took over the host, whereas Succubats just rewired their instincts a bit.

Yeah. I needed to rework them, if only so they could come up at all. Now it's more like having a dog that lives in your head. One that's very protective and caring towards the rest of the hive

yeah the third eye look is a lot cutter then the old one and looks cooler. or to me at lest they feel less like angry animals and more like gardenias of a family now

They all get really wide shoulders and grow bigger than they used to be, but zed was originally even taller than a lot of crown crabs

Whoa, looks like the effects are even more potent now, looks great!

The description confuses me a little, is it saying crown crab hosts become queens more often, or are just one step below them?

Hmmm I kinda curious of these symbioses would work on a plush creature... or if they will just bite in and get a mouth full of stuffing and a slightly annoyed plushie fur with holes they need to patch

Have the crown crabs evolved to do gender shifts as well or is that still only the succubats?

Since Crown Crabs are young queens, they can probably partner with a succubat symbiont. They just aren't going to normally.

You know its funny, with this reworking, the crown crab have gone from what was very disliked by me to actually my preferred, and that new redesign to them is actually very nice! Does it even have any downsides anymore?

Well you need to eat like 9x more food, and your mind is definitely altered more than with succubats. Like not doing things your crown crab likes to do will wear down on you super quick. You can have old hobbies and likes, but you'll have some new habits and wants mixed in

In theory, could someone with a very high intelligence and very strong will technically overwrite the crown crab's own wants most of the time and thus negate that negative, maybe even someone with magic? Or would that not really solve anything.

It's literally part of their brain now. intelligence wouldn't do anything, I guess will? You just then have an animal who is whining directly in your head all the time because you're always only doing what you want, and your mental state will get worse as what is part of your now gets an increasingly hostile relationship with you

So its the complete wrong mindset for that then, its basically like ignoring a pet dog, your not making your life easier by just ignoring its needs.
