I came across this never publish artwork and... it should be published.
My first real job as an artist was for a casual game company and creating scenes like these was my job, but before I could get really good at it, I transferred to concept art, and when I finally got good at that I quit the job because it had no future. But anyway, I loved that job and I never got the opportunity to really show what I can do for it, and so I was really excited about getting this commission.

another artist made the 3D model of the scene. I ended up using only the 3D architecture and the rest was a lot of painting, photomanipulation and texturing. Of course I avoid using photos in my own paintings but this job really can't be done without them and in that context, it can be fun and you can get really nice results.
If you want to see really great artwork of this genre, look up the artwork for the game "League of Light - Wicked Harvest" and other HOPA games.
HOPA art can get really bad, but good HOPA art is really good art!
