Surf's up!
The waves are finally coming in, and it's about time! It's hard enough getting permission to hit the beach, let alone on a day when there's a chance to actually surf!
I know that most surfers say the beaches are usually crowded on good days, but they always seem to clear up when I get there! Maybe I'm just lucky?
I think getting out to get the waves is the best part. Paddling toward a good swell gets me stoked every time!

This was one of the first images that came to mind when I was brainstorming about stuff to draw Kitty doing :) It's just such an iconic image for surfer's to dash towards the waves, board in hand, in hopes of getting there first. Kind of a childish excitement.
I had a lot of fun coloring this image too, as I really don't do sand and water all that often. It was neat to experiment and see what looked right and wrong.
