Yay, another one-time comic!
This isn't aimed at anyone, but I'm sure many artists can relate to it XD
Darn background is supposed to be beige, but it blended in with Holly's pink hair. Darn you evil scanner! *shakes her fist!*
Bristol board, Prismacolour markers and Copic markers.

LOL!
I'm not an artist but I feel the pain of those who have had to deal with that. When I ask for a commission I try to be as clear as I can. Here's someone else who feel's your pain:

All I can think of after reading this is a certain mouse from a certain Merrie Melodies cartoon that yelled out at the Lion SUCKER!!!, which was followed by the lion hitting his head against a tree trunk. It's really funny that people can really be that dense and that grammatically stupid when it comes to asking for a commission. The only one worse than that are The Pointless Essay description for an image.
I just spent an hour talking to another artist about this very same phenomenon. ^^ Someone on SecondLife wanted me to draw their character, and their mate, but had no images of their mate. i've waited a week for images of their mate, or at least a decent description of her, only to have him email me yesterday with, "How's it going? Do you have a black and white version of the commission yet?"
So I drew the image with them cuddling, rough draft, then send it. I get back:
"Oh, she has two tails. And I want her to be :censored: in my lap and :censored censored: with tears of joy in her eyes."
So I draw another, as best I cat. The reply:
"No no.. facing away from me."
::refunded, washed hands of::

This was definitely funny, and so was the link that
gammaeradon posted (Of course I read that comic all the time. But I am amazed at the number of idiots there are that don't know how to spell or don't care.
As soon as I started drawing, I had two people ask me if I took commissions (they shall remain nameless)

indeed! sometimes getting the info you need to properly do a commission is like pulling teeth. and if you try to work with the little info they give you then they get all pissy cause it doesn't look like their character. As I've told people in the past... I'm just an artist... not a freakin PSYCHIC...
but i digress, not every commissioner is like this and i am thankful for getting lots of commissions from the ones with good heads on their shoulders.
Excellent comic HollyAnn! couldn't have put it better myself.

The face on the "1 hour later" panel is what sold me. XD
And yeah, that's something I hear often from people. I tend to try better descriptions, but...
a) my character's rather generic, as far as golden retrievers go
b) I like to see the artist's rendition of my character, as they imagine it. :3
So, yeah, I give the guidelines, and what comes after is what the artist think. ^_^
*hugs*
Here's hoping I'm not THAT bad though. :X

Yeah but there's a difference between "my fursona is just your average looking golden retriever" and "there are a million other golden retriever fursonas out there and mine is so identical to everyone elses, I can be easily mistaken for ANY of those ones out there" ;)
Out of my entire 12 years (or so) drawing furries and such, I think I've only come across two golden retriever fursonas....evar! To me, your fursona is much more unique then "a generic golden retriever", because I rarely see them around ;)

I can't stop laughing!! XD
This even happens to me in person!
Me: What are you?
Him: I'm a dragon!
Me: Okay, what kind of--
Him: A dragon! I dunno, a dragon!
Me: Okay, are you western, asian, anthro, do you have horns, hair/fur, what colors---hello?
Him: (gone)
(one hour later)
Him: Is it done yet?
I fully expect this one to be as well-known as another comic favorite of yours: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/195650/

*Snickers* Funny, like the vending machine comic. I know how you feel. Don't think I ever had it happen to me, though I'm not exactly an artist, I'm more of a spriter, but I know how you feel. Not good to do something when you don't have much info about it. You're an artist, not a mind reader.
My fursona has a very detailed design, so when I ask for requests that have hir in it, which is what I usually request, I always provide a detailed description and ref pics, but I normally leave the pose up to the artist unless I have one in mind. Shi's a challenge to draw due to hir design, but I don't really mind if things are left out or some parts don't look right. (Mainly hir hair for some, but I don't really care, though I do mention that it's a little off for some of the ref pics I show. Those pics have it only between hir ears when it actually goes around them as well) (This also goes for pics I have of hir that were based on an old description. I just point out things that aren't there anymore as I have about three pics I show for ref pics that are like that, though it's a very minor detail) I'm not real picky and I'm also patient when it comes to waiting for requests to be done. I've waited months for some and they were all well worth the wait.

Ah, the bane of commissioners: people who speak primarily in L33Tspeak, who are completely and blatantly unhelpful, and complain when the finished product is done. How very frustrating.
Of course, when you can act smug because you get revenge and get paid for it...that's true happiness.

yep those are trolls. if u see them snickering there playing games with you... moo
read troll as either twerp or professional retard. itsa mental VIRUS called a prion. considering my dyslexia is getting worse im sure im next up on the chopping block @-@
first stage is usually minor trolling
second stage is gender confusing
stage three involves the children of said person to have sudden infant death syndrome (sids), due to the neuron backfiring from extra coils in the malformed neurons.
im serious i had to do at least 40 spelling corrections , 41 - just 42 now. x.x
