Fratricide VI - Ephemereal dreams
- You think that you'll gain redemption by protecting those scums of humans, even if that means to defy the Armada? You fool. I will anihilate that ephemereal dream of your!
Bothan was pushed away by the unleashed power of her twin. Daji's steel blade wings were majestic but they inspired the fear to the arctic vixen. What is the limit of the grand-admiral's power? Is there just a single weak point she could use?
She wasn't sure to be strong enough to protect her ideals, specially compared to the determination of her twin to protect Bubastis against the possible revenge of the humans.
Is her dream to create an universe where the two kinds will live together peacefuklly hopeless?...

Hellfire such as space debris falling on Earth, Paris in flame in the rear, two sisters fighting for their ideals, ... What's better? And what's next?

Gorgeous stuff as always! For some reason. I'm reminded of this dialogue from "Star Wars":
General Dodonna: The battle station is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the star fleet. It's defenses are designed around a direct, large-scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense.
Gold Leader: Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are snub fighters going to be against that?
General Dodonna: Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small one-man fighter to be any threat, or they'd have a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the battle station. But the approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point. The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system. A precise hit will start a chain reaction which should destroy the station. Only a precise hit will set off a chain reaction. The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes.
Wedge Antilles (Red 2): That's impossible! Even for a computer.
Luke: It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.
General Dodonna: Then man your ships. And may the Force be with you.

I love looking at this picture, but also find it painful to watch.
To answer your question, I'm thinking of this situation like the one between Professor Xavier and Magneto. Professor X wants humans and mutants to coexist, but Magneto fears the larger non-mutated part of the population, and would rather see them enslaved or exterminated. (Magneto refers to mutants with weak or nonexistent powers as "infirm", but I think he's either ignorantly or willfully blind to what his philosophy, if successful, would mean for them as well as non-mutated humans.)
People might like Magneto's style or like him as a character, but among anyone who cares about those stories, I think only transhumanists (in other words, genocidally self-hating humans) in our world would really want someone like Magneto to win for the sake of his ideals --;=)
Having said that, I think the whole situation is a little twisted... far-future scenarios like this make me a little sad in general. But anyway, I think I can understand Daji's perspective as well. Also, is Bothan really concerned for humanity as a whole, or for one individual in particular?

Bothan's concerns are more about.... jealousy. Jealous of the empire her twin Daji was able to build.
That and egocentrical need. Daji already pointed that in a "what do you want to be considered at? As a goddess because you'll save them?"
For me, both of them are right in their opinions...

Good lord Amiral... The transformation in the quality and level of detail and effects in this piece from start to finish is just *ucking incredable! I mean... damn. This piece is so much more intense than the first sketch you showed me. I'm about as blown away by this piece as Bothan is blown away by Daji. O__O
