Robin stared at the dead bird with disbelief. There's only one possible way it could have arrived on her kitchen counter. Especially when arranged in a bowl on top of a garnish - like some kind of decadent treat.
"Kobold? Can you come here please?" she called aloud.
There was a frantic scrambling of leathery pads and clicking claws as Cobalt arrived. eager to serve, and wearing a butlers uniform that had seen better times.
The sleeve of his black coat had been torn at the shoulder. His bow-tie was partly unravelled. His formerly white shirt collar stuck out at an odd angle. His pants were missing entirely. And every part of him was dusted with a fine layer of dirt.
He had been wearing it for less than a day.
"Yes Mistress Robin?" he trilled happily, looking up at the dragoness with adoration.
"Is.. is this a dead bird?" she asked, still not quite believing that he had done this, or his dishevelled state. It had not even been 24 hours since she had taken pity on him and given him a job in her own home.
The diminutive kobold smiled broadly, and picked up the bowl so he could hold it up to her in his paws, like an offering at a temple.
"Mhm mhm! Kobold spend hours trying to catch one! Fell from the roof much! Hope you like, Ma'am!"
Robin raised a hand to rub at the bridge of her muzzle in an attempt to stifle the headache that was only just beginning.(edited)
