Hey guys, time to get the crazy train to continue. We all know that in times of insanity there can be some pleasure. Such can be said on some cigars. This is why I chose this particular next blend.
Asylum 13 Medulla Robusto:
Wrapper: Honduran Corojo
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the construction of the wrapper, it was covered by the white paper reading in a dirty italic lettering MEDULLA. To me the paper was like a stray jacket, containing the insanity within. The brown band with gold writing and skull symbols represented a cap for either the electric chair or electroshock the stick was about to be prepared for. A bit dry from the touch, but very clean in appearance. Veins and Seems were present, but neatly wrapped and set up. Let's light it up!
The Burn Part 1:
The first few puffs were ALOT of natural tobacco notes. Like the great outdoors calling for me. Some sweet cedar notes came to join the great outdoors as well. Felt like I was on a farm on the ending of a shift gathering some hay for the cattle. Mainly so far a more natural state in notes. So far nothing has come afterwards. Usually a sweet note would come along.
The Burn Part 2:
By this time a sweet note did comes along. Joining along with the cedar notes. Sort of a lighter, but sweeter nutmeg note. Making the end of work shift more of a sweeter experience where you can kick back and relax. Seems like this particular nut job of a cigar has a lighter side to it's insanity. Sooner than I realized that was when some red pepper notes started to kick in and give it a little more bite. Not so sweet are you now, huh? The red pepper notes were a bit strong but soon calmed down.
The Burn Final:
The nutmeg along with the cedar notes began to get a little thicker. At this point the cigar itself was becoming spongey nearing the end of it's final life. Not much else has changed at this point. With the final puff coming to the end, it was the pepper that came out on top as the last note. I put out the cigar's insanity in the ashtray at the end.
Verdict:
Looks can be deceiving in some cases, but this particular stick is an exception. Starts out ssubtle and simple, but soon has a bite that will make you think twice. If you dare to face this stick with your sanity intact, give it a go. ;D
