Heh, I'm glad you like it. The original pencil art was done by a close friend of mine. The drawing is of my character Chro Narrsier. As the name suggests it's original species is crow. I love the work you've done on it. You took a great piece of art and made it better if it was possible. I however cannot claim this 'version' of my character as my own as I was unknowing of it's creation. Nelena, You do great work. If you'd like to draw more of my character come talk to my e-mails are chronarrsier@yahoo.com, i1nkheart@yahoo.com, cole_tren[at]yahoo.co.uk I've numerous accounts due to spam and broken relationships. my main is i1nkheart[at]yahoo.com I look forward to talking with you.
you need to watch an anime called princess tutu, despite the horrible name its a great series about a swan and a raven taking on human forms to compete over the heart of a prince, the swan tries to restore his heart, while the raven tries to take it. and all the episodes are based around various stories, its quite captivating and well worth the watch, especially since you like the swan and raven theme.
Once upon a midnight dreary while I pondered weak and weary over many a quiant and curious volume of forgotten lore, I nodded my head nearly napping when suddenly there came a tapping as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. 'tis some visitor' I muttered 'tapping at my chamber door, only this and nothing more.
I call myself to the lucky ones, who were able to observe the process of creation of this piece and its predecessor. I love it when somebody makes pictures that react to each other, that basically belong to each other and tell a wordless story when you place them next to each other...
Not to mention that I simply fancy ravens, as well. Guitly there. XD

You say it's supposed to be the counterpart of your Princess Swan picture ... But why is this picture called King Raven? Shouldn't you call it Prince Raven instead? ;)
Anyways, I really like the way you did the background (especially those amazing ornaments - how did you do them?). I also like the overall impression of this piece but I think some of the proportions are little bit odd (like the head that seems to be a tad too big). That's why I like your Princess Swan better, even though I really like ravens and black stuff.
I hope both pictures sold well at Eurofurence art show.
Keep up the good work! :)

Because I simply couldn't imagine a raven being a prince XD
I really had problems with the head to be honest. Real ravens have massiv heads and I wanted to find a good compromise between the bird-anatomy and the human-anatomy... as you can see I failed XD But I'll keep trying ;)
For the ornaments I used Pelikan Prisma color (Zweifarben Effektlack). I so love that stuff and I hope I can use it more often in the future *_*
Both pictures actually sold well and as far as I know they went to the same person, which made me really happy *_*
