The Jester – by Sir Gallade
Let me be your jester.
I shall turn that sadness into joy,
I shall take away your sorrow.
And at the end of every day,
know I’ll be there for you tomorrow.
I want to be a jester.
To live life helping others,
I believe that to be my call
My humor is a grasping hand,
into despair I won’t let you fall.
I love being a jester.
It brings a comfort to my heart,
to see delight in others folks.
And in order to reach that end,
I’ll bear the brunt of any jokes.
I just have to be… a jester.
Like a heavy weight upon my back,
I’ll carry all your pain.
I’ll suffer until the end of time,
so you won’t have to do the same.
I force myself to jester.
As I spread smiling faces,
through jokes and flamboyant style.
No one ever seems to ask:
“Who makes the jester smile?”

Recently started to get more into writing and poetry again, not sure what the main reason is. I've been called a "jester" recently by some friends for all the goofy and funny stuff that I do, and that is what at least began the formation of this short prose.
(The poem is intended to be read with a brief pause after the first line of each stanza, it makes it all flow just a bit smoother - at least that is what I tried to do) - enjoy~
