What taxes you all do? In Poland I write what I got this year, and send it online to the tax office, all in 5 minutes ;o

In the US, it can be much more complex. As FrankHightower already pointed out, there is the form 1040 which most of us have to complete. If you make less than a certain amount of money, you can file an easier form, appropriately called the 1040-EZ. If you claim deductions such as medical expenses, mortgage interest, or donations to charity, there is a schedule B for that. If like me, you have a business of your own to supplement your main income, there is a schedule C for that. And those are just the common ones.

Then there are a bunch of forms that you don't fill out, but transfer information from W-2 (employer income), 1099 (interest or dividend income), 1098 (mortgage interest), and so on.
