True but I found MGS4's story to be disapointing....everyone knows snake and Otacon are gay for each other yet not a single acknowledgement of it? COME ON! and whats MGS5 gonna be about? Snake in a retirement home sneaking into the kitchen to get another serving of Applesauce?
And that is why you never see a novice sniper. They all think it is point and click. You have to track you enemies, know the terrain, keep track of friendlies, and move one step ahead of your target. It not that easy to do properly. But a lot of people think it is how you said, point and click.
gotta agree with you there, thats why so many snipers are so ineffective. Barely able to hit anything, constantly get themselves killed, or get in the way of other snipers. I still snicker when I see snipers use huntsman at WAY too far a distance, so I just pop them and go back to harassing theyre team.
Well I haven't played in awhile but I can guess that the number of
novice snipers' have only increased. Just because they can play a heavy or a demoman and hit something doesn't mean they can play snipers, spy's, or scouts. Not don't get me wrong, I know they each play different ways. But that is the thing, they all play different ways. And I know people that think they can play them all because they are good at one thing.
And now I am ranting and I need to stop.

Yeah, it has increased a great deal. I've been on 16 vs 16 servers where we would end up with 6-7 snipers on the team. I was more commenting on huntsman and the face that noobs are treating it LIKE a sniper rifle. Trying to pick off players far, far outside of its effective range. I always find it amusing to see people using it on places like 2fort battlements to try and hit other snipers, and fail miserably time and time again because opponent has far more than enough time to step to the side and dodge it.
(You said you haven't played in a while, so I'll assume you haven't seen the huntsman in action. think of an arrow, moving about the speed of a rocket, but minus the area damage if it misses. You can understand why this is not a distance weapon)
I'll stop my ranting now as well ^^

Phbbt, Huntsman is ideal for 2fort in my opinion. It's all about mastering the arc and predicting your enemy. If you can remember the various timers for scope power, reload, and strafe, you can time it so the enemy sniper gets pegged in the face just as he strafes out from behind cover.
Kills with the huntsman give me the same thrill backstabs do. It's glorious fun, and anyone who says it's pure luck is just jealous =P

Well snipers are just the same in other games as it is in TF2. You have to have some of the same skills, it just that TF2 make them into a more singular career. While other games like CoD and Halo(two of the biggest shooters out there beside TF2) give the players a more round about skill set. So it is a bit more difficult to play a sniper in TF2 then in other games. At least in my opinion.
Well while I could go back to the back to the turok days of sniping why would i with a M24 sniper rifle at my side. And yeah the some trail is kinda dumb. But really if you are a good sniper then your target will never get a chance to see the trail. Others yes but not the target.
I definately agree with you on those being the three hardest to play.
Snipers require deadly aim to be effective, and keeping tracking of your opponents with their movements.
Scouts are like snipers on crack on that you have to keep that aiming skill but pull it on the fly while moving 20mph.
And spy, oh lord, the challenge of the spy I so adore, its its own mental mind game, cause not only do you have to be aware of your surroundings, but you have to know how your opponents think and how to act like every single class to not draw attention. I loves me a challenge, and I loves me a spy, i need to get back to work on my scooting, but those three are pretty much my most played in general (i had resetted my stats on the spy/sniper update to get rid of the farmed crap stats to get back to the basics.
That aside, it is an awesome pic.

Why do you have a scouter?
Also, I don't play TF2, but the design of it makes me very, very happy. It's really cool with the character design how they struck a balance between well-developed and archetypal characters. I think that the scads of here-is-my-vision-of-one-or-more-TF2-characters pictures out there are evidence that Valve did a good job.

Spai is definitely a challenge. Sniper actually does take skill, unlike other games, thanks to easy vulnerability.
And of course, Scout, my own class, is tricky thanks to having to move fast, having low health, and the weapons not being the most powerful until you land right on an Engie.
As for the picture, fuck yes BLU.

Yeah, Demoman Solider and Pyro are the three cheesiest classes. And now that scout can't stun an uber medic, I Think I'm bumping medic up into a cheese class. Heavy and engie need a little more skill. Engi actually needs the enemy team to be unskilled really..
But then these three classes. No one wants to give them the respect the deserve. Cept of course You.

I've played both classes. Both are the easiest classes I've come across.
1 be a soldier
2 aim at their feet
3 ???
4 profit.
Soldiers excel in close quarters. Don't be afraid to miss.
1 be a heavy
2 have wall of lead take care of everything in front of you
3 ???
4 profit.
A good medic (medium tier) knows well enough to take care of the flankers... This will no doubt alert the heavy of people than need wall of leaded.

Implying that Scout is a hard class to master? HAHA WAT. Yeah, sure, he's hard. If you suck at TF2, that is.
Scout is piss-easy mode. Sniper and Spy, however, are not. Which I happen to main both classes.
Anyways, as for the artwork itself, looks nice. :) The rabbit's feet kinda ruin it for me, though. Then again, I'm not very fond of rabbits, so I guess that judgment is a little biased. Nonetheless, nice job, look forward to your future works.

Scout takes skill, but it's not HARD since he's midtier. The difficulty comes in aiming at that speed against another scout or when getting puffed by a piero or you know IF you don't have proper twitch reflexes.
Sniper is bottomtier because he's still encouraged to camp, not run around into battle unless you have a Cuntsman or have dead-center aiming/tracking.
Spai is hardest because it takes patience, a bit of micromanagement and a distracted enemy team. fuck that, I want to crush your ass ASAP

Spy, hardest? It's so easy, when I play it I feel like I'm cheating. :\ Seriously, demoman is harder to play as.
The hardest class to play honestly I would say is the Soldier, then scout, then sniper, then I don't really know. This is to full potential, spy's potential is facestabs, sidestabs, always getting that one kill over and over, or killing several people in less than a second. I've seen a spy kill two soldiers, a pyro, a heavy, a sniper, and a medic in under ten seconds, he rushed the group of two soldiers/pyro/heavy and facestabbed them all, ambassador killed the sniper and medic (before the nerf), then I, a scout finally killed him.
I think you're basing your judgement on spai off of everytime a single spai can chain-stab 7 people PUSHING LEETLE KART (like the spai in the picture do ho ho ho). And yes it's infuriating after being killed by a spai, but it's not like they're constantly taking out people unlike say demonigger who in 32-man spamfests can top the scoreboard within 2 mins just by stickyspamming chokepoints and lobbing nades all willie nillie.
CEVO Demonigger is a whole other story, that does require a more able-minded individual, but that's like 1% of all the demos online so it's not enough to save the class from being considered scrubtier.

Sticky-spaming needs a nerf, I agree...it's a defensive weapon and it's too good offensively, perhaps make them less effective single but the more in a radius makes the normal strength. Spah is still OP, sorry...it's the only class I have a problem with, and I've even tried playing it, I -top- scoreboards every time unless the other team just spams pyro's. It's just plain not fun, the revolver is too powerful and the knife has too large a "backstab" zone on the model's, it's a needed class but it's too powerful. It should get a slight damage reduction on the revolver, remove side-stab, and increase its stealth length perhaps to balance it out, but as it stands it isn't the hardest class to play.
You're confusing how easy it is to die with skill level, it doesn't take much skill to walk up behind somebody and attack their back, it's more luck than skill. It doesn't take much skill to evade people while in stealth or disguised, again it's more luck-based there as well. Soldier takes the most skill, by a large amount I find.

They fixed the sidestab a couple of updates ago, the shitstorm was unbelievable .... and Valve caved in to their demands lol, so they reinstated it. About that luck though, it's true that you can rely on luck to find yourself in a situation were you can dominate as Spai, however the skill comes in not relying on luck but you yourself creating those opportunities and situations.
Also, no Medic heals spais the way they're constantly sucking Soldier/Demonigger/Heavy/Piero dick, managing your health and surviving with the limited HP you have is also skill-based (map knowledge and all), it's not just in getting frags~
Hell a marvelous spai with the Cloak and Dagger limits themselves to disabling teleporters and actually SPYING on the enemy: like, finding a safespot to be on infinite cloak and relay the enemy team's movements through voice chat, fuckyear infiltration

Aiming does take skill when you're on the move and you take into consideration the target's own speed and trayectory, same with moving, it's not just hurrdurr moving around like a spazz but moving alert of your surroundings and incoming projectiles or threats, dodging properly not just moving away from the rocket (hell sometimes I use the splash damage of a rocket/sticky to rocketjump as a scout and escape or infiltrate their battlements, fuckyear)
Timing falls within the same category as aiming since it ends up being a motorskilll you have to season and practice.

Well back/sidestabds don't require much aiming, but if you're doing a bit of sniping with the revolver or Embassador, you pace yourself y'know. The skill like I said comes in creating those situations and outwitting the enemy with deception and tactical movement, not focusing on frags, having patience etc etc
Again, patience and timing doesn't equal skill....it's...patience and timing. The revolver and embassador are sidearms, sure they're in the priamy slot but the knife is the main weapon. If the Sniper's SMG was the ambassador people would be ape-shit labeling OP, and with good reason. It's still the most powerful hit-scan weapon in the game, minus the sniper rifle.
well unfortunately that's were our key difference breaks any chance of us agreeing on the subject. I for one put patience up there along with "the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well"
Patience is not just about waiting out, you gotta have the knowledge that good things come to those who wait, how to wait, when to wait, and you have to practice that mindset, making you apt for- should the situation arise, employ this skill. This along with what I've already stated, about how to properly manage yourself as Spy (not about frags alone, but about support and utility)
I certainly lack this, I can't stand still for more than 10 seconds (as any proper scout should do ho ho ho)
And lol to spais maining the Embassador over fucking up enemy sentries/teleporters and ambushing medics and...well neglecting everything that would make him credit to team.

Well I guess it's different for the average pub, but there's a reason nobody plays spah in tournaments, ever anywhere. Not that tournaments mean anything, I for one sure as hell don't play in them, but it still speaks torrents. For the average person, patience is a skill I suppose, you're right on that regard; for anybody that can play all classes to nearly their full potential, the spy isn't the hardest or the one with the most potential, however it isn't the easiest either, so I'll give you that.
But you're a scout, patience is a skill you do not posses, you've said so, I'm able to play all three of those classes mentioned in this image and I'm able to play them well. I can say the scout is the harder one to play of the three, but that's because spy is too easy and sniper simply dominates once you reach a certain "skill" level; once you're at a certain point of skill the sniper simply destroys everything, unfair for even enemy spies, and Sniper was my most-played class until I grew bored of how easy it was to kill anything that moved (or didn't...). Soldier is my new favorite, to be honest I might be a little biased, but I'm able to be more credit to team while decimating the enemy team while using him.
I'm a (real) sniper at heart, I guess that allows me to have patience to time to perfect moments and the knowledge when patience isn't required and action has foothold. The sniper in TF2 requires more reflex than anything, unlike sniping in real-life or other games, say for instance ArmA 2 (<3).
I like all classes, they all serve a purpose, some could use some balance tweaks, but the spy is the only class that, when I'm killed by, I always know that anybody could of done it. That it took no skill to kill me, that there's nothing I could of done to prevent it other than being a pyro-spamer. That annoys me more than anything, a spy will always be able to kill at least one person per life unless he's a moron, and that one person can't stop it or see it coming; even a sniper has weak points, you can see him and avoid him.

Sniper is easy to me. I get most of my kills as one, unless there are other really good snipers gang banging me, then it gets distracting. I think spy is hardest now thanks to consistent pyro Spy checks. The Dead Ringer gives you a bit of a chance but that decloaking noise is hella loud. :S
As for the pic... ugh why do furries always rape things that I like? :(

That list is a good assessment of pub play. Things are different in competitive play, though.
A top tier demoman in a competitive 6s match is FAR more difficult to master than any other class. Sure you can lop ezpipes and stickies in a 30 man pub and get kills just from spam, but learning every jump, timing stickies when there are so few people, hitting every pipe and getting airshots with them, and still realizing your surroundings and keeping the enemy team corralled with controlled spam... people who can do that are few and far between.
Soldier and scout are about the same, I'd say, depending. You have to know how to airshot properly as a soldier, which is a difficult task, and how to move as quick as a scout to point with rocketjumping, not to mention constant area control and survival awareness, to pick off any scout that comes near your precious medic; as a scout you have to realize the times to attack, and know how to jump and stay alive from the rockets that will be aimed directly at you. Some scouts can frag, but a picking scout that kills the medic and demo is just as precious.
Anything else unfortunately has a low skill ceiling due to the way matches are played. Heavy is dead in a few concentrated rockets, and he's incredibly slow. Pyro's ineffectual as long as you know where he is (a decent scout, soldier, or demo will always kill a pyro, and the only use of a pyro is ambushing the enemy team unaware. There are few times you can do so on push maps with such a slow class). Spy is usually dead through competent spychecks (not to mention the other team can push since you're an offensive class down), engies can't push, and snipers are limited by valve's wonky hitboxes (so a team known to continually jump and crouch when there is an enemy sniper, and the sniper won't be sure where to aim to get a headshot). The limited effective play of these classes means you can't master them competitively.

Trudat, our last CEVO team leader was/is a kicking Soldier. And competitive Demonigger is definitely another case
I sure have an easier time on 6 vs 6 as a Scout however, because there's not spam to worry about, so you have a bigger area of movement and freedom. Too bad 6vs6 teams are always tight, can't pick them off as easy ;c, I oughta PUG again sometime~

some of the comments in here are pretty hilarious
these are all the hardest to master, without a doubt. scout's easiest to get into and have fun with, but becoming absolutely deadly takes a lot of patience. :] people seem to not realize that they just might be naturally better at one class or another, and will claim it's harder because they've spent more time with it and don't want to look like a faggert
i play scout and medic and medic takes like, zero skill. you just have to manage your time properly and run around like a dingus.

ARGUEMENT TIEM
T2 isn't that technically difficult.
It's not like Counter-Strike twitch where someone's dead within half a second of any two players sharing a LOS. It takes quite a few rockets or shotgun blasts to take someone down.
That's the main reason I like TF2. You have time to make decisions and size up your opponent's class, terrain, and awareness of you.
The most deadly weapons are usually close range and easy to run away from.
TL;DR: TF2 requires less twitch and more tactics. Sound tactics are easier to get than split-second reactions.

Not going to argue against skills needed(except for perhaps point-and-click Sniper), it seems inversely proportional to how useful they are to the team at any given time. I think I've only once or twice heard anyone suggest the "need" for a Spy to get rid of something, and Scout rushes for the purposes of amusement(Bats only, OF COURSE).
But, as a mainly Pyro(actually Medic as of late) player, I'm sure my opinions are moot.

Awesome picture but that "skill tier" is -very- arguable. :3
Spy and sniper may be great in 24-32 person servers where you can't keep track of the enemy team, but running a 6v6 match, spy's almost completely useless and sniper's good for about the last point on a push map. :O
Scout however is definitely one of the higher skilled classes. Not necessarily for weapon choice. That scattergun is a beast. Movement options for the scout however are very complicated.
Soldier may seem like a spam class for those of you who play so much Payload and Dustbowl-style maps. :P But he's also one of the most important. He's your medic's bodyguard!
Basically the default classes for any comp team are the most skilled and versatile in my opinion.

It depends what you are trying to do with your class.
Demoman is the hardest if you are playing in 6v6 pro shet, as almost every scout 2 hit kills you.
Demoman is the easiest in pub, as nade spam works, and noone gets to kill you.
Scout is the easiest class If you played counter strike for the past decade, all you need is aim to kill, and movement to jump around to dodge stuff.
same goes for sniper, but without the dodging part.
Engineer is the hardest class in tournaments, as sentries don't work, and you should have an ungodly shotgun + pistol aim to bring down the stupid scouts.

I play TF2 for one real reason:
TO KEEL TINY BABY MEN.
I play Heavy because he's loud, boisterous, and moreover packing a two-hundred-round custom minigun he -probably- looted from A HIND-D. He's the spirit of the game, the face of TF2, and as such my favorite class to play.

the best class is spy if you know what your doing but very hard to play as, sniper is fun strangly if you know how to have fun with him :P just running up to people and chuck some piss and watch the assist fly lmao, scout is very hard to master especially when double jumping to get the kills D:
Skillful scouts are very annoying. Since I can't aim at any shit, I have to build a sentry to have it kill the scout for me (or use it to buy time when I try to kill the scout off).
A Spy with a Death Ringer in a game that doesn't have a pyro is so fun to play. You can't die from explosives if you know where to run to.
A sniper without sufficient team backup cannot make you win the game (unless you're fucking god at aiming, in which case I'll play a spy and keep killing that guy until he leaves).

Your scout is more evil than the mac-earbud scout. :)
That being said, I do wanna play a game with you in it. Sadly, I only get decent ping at West-coast servers, being in the EU and all.
Aaand I'm probably not good enough for pug's and definitely not CEVO.
My best classes are: Soldier, Pyro and Sniper in more or less that order.
