Hey all you crazy peoples, time to continue this crazy train. Continuing the other half of the 2 parter along from the Medula stick we goo for the Oblongata. Will it be just as sinister as the other? Let's find out!
Asylum 13 Oblongata:
Wrapper: Honduran Corojo
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras
Pre-Light/Construction:
Along joining the Medula in the same box, but different section. Pretty much the same forward presentation as the Medula except the wrapper itself looked a little bit looser and lightly packed, but mainly secure. For a box press, it was a nice hold. smooth and firm to the touch with a slight oil finish. Veins and Seems were present but gave the overall look a more refined and well maintained look. The predraw from the slice was nice a vivid. Let's light her up!
The Burn Part 1:
The draw gave out alot of smoke and the first notes to come into play were a somewhat dark oak and dark roasted coffee. A funny start for this blend. I ain't complaining. Smooth as it may have been at first, the black pepper notes came out of nowhere and just started to change the smoothness into insanity. Pretty much nothing else at this point. More like a sophisticated Hannibal Lectar of cigars right now.
The Burn Part 2:
Some earthy notes came to blend in with the dark oats to lessen the thickness. The dark roasted coffee notes dwindled a bit, but gave it a bitter sweet note from the retro hale. Still calm even with the black pepper notes. The body was mainly medium at this point. Nothing much else until near the end of the 2nd third of the cigar came some creamy notes to blend in with the coffee. At this point the craziness had a sophisticated side at rest.
The Burn Final:
At this point the earthy notes start to dwindle a bit along with the dark oak. The coffee notes along with the cream stayed pretty much the same from start to finish. The Black pepper however kicked up a little bit. Until the last few puffs, my mind was either overwhelmed by either bliss or complexity. With the final draw the coffee and cream notes made the finish as I put it into the ashtray and took a swig of my bourbon.
Verdict:
This cigar is pretty much a Hannibal Lectar of sticks with sophisticated smoothness and kick. If you go for this type of complexity, then this stick is the stick for you. Grab yourself a couple.
