The Protatron do not harm humans on purpose, but that doesn't make them non-violent. They will not attack, but that does not mean they will not defend. That being said, these are Protatrons built for battle, known also as sentinels. They are made largely for planetary support, but they are capable of space flight and fighting orbital skirmishes and sometimes deep space missions.

Protatron Sentinels come in various designs and equipped with different types of weapons for a wide array of scenarios. This is one of the more basic designs, where their choice of weapon is a positron pulse cannon, missile launcher/twin rail guns within the chest cavity, and a carbon shield lined with silicon for increased protection from energy projectiles. About 1,000 of these sentinels are currently stationed on Eden IV, keeping watch over the humans.

Like all Protatrons, the Sentinels abide by the three laws of robotics, and are immune to the mind controlling powers of Mutant Zero. They will selflessly throw down their own lives to ensure the protection of even a single human being, as they are most dear to them. Despite their ferocity in battle, the sentinels are actually quite gentle. They will delicately take injure humans into their arms and rush them to the nearest infirmary without crushing them. They can also be quite affectionate, petting human children or rubbing them against their cheeks. Even though you'd expect something stupid, even the Protatron soldiers are quite complex.
