"But who are these freaks?!" barked Hunter as one of his arrows headshot one of said freaks.
It had been a pretty nice morning in the Artisans world. Sun was shining, Spyro and Hunter were napping, Bianca was reading, the adult dragons were all far from them, preparing the Dragonfly Bonding Ceremony...
And then the freaks - actually robots - appeared out of thin air in a flash of light and ruined the beautiful day, screaming death towards the purple dragon.
"No idea, Hunter, but I bet they're regretting messing with us now!" smirked Spyro as he mauled another metal thug with his horns.
Actually, the battle started badly. Between the effect of surprise, the numerical inferiority, the sort of forcefield the attackers deployed, preventing any help to come, and their invulnerability to Spyro's fire, things were grim ar first.
But once our three friends managed to get their bearings and fight efficiently, the tide of the battle turned, and the majority of the robots quickly fell.
Suddenly, another flash of light materialized.
The three heroes froze, dreading enemy backup.
A dread that left place to surprise when a dragon appeared from it.
Then to questions as they saw that the remaining robots were visibly horrified.
And then to flabbergastment.
It was an adult dragon, and a tuft of black hair, complemented by a beard, had replaced the scaly crest.
But the purple color, the yellow horns and wings, the attitude in his badass armfold, the snark in the smirk and look he gave the killer machines, all this left absolutely no doubt at all.
"Spyro..." stammered Bianca. "It's... It's you!"
