Down at the Waterfall WIP1
Down at the waterfall he's waiting for you ...
Just a little WIP-shot of the picture I'm currently working on (sorry for the crappy photo, but I couldn't scan it since it sticks to the drawing table).
It's my first real acrylic painting and I have to admit ... painting with acrylics sure is tough! I painted on some kind of special acrylic paper, it's very similar to canvas with its rough structure and its water-repellent characteristic. (So working with a watery technique won't work without a solid acrylic grounding.)
Errr ... what's more to say? I hope I'll be able to finish the painting in time to take it with me to Eurofurence (I guess I'll just have to pull some all-nighters).
Even though it's not perfect, I don't think the outcome is thaaat bad so far. I'm glad I finally tried to do a real painting with only acrylics since I really do enjoy painting it (even though it's exhausting).
Anyways, wish me luck with the finished picture. ;)

weil die qualität und die farben noch nicht so super sein müssen, aber dafür kann man auch ma bissl mehr als bis zum rand zeigen und man hat auch ma bissl größenverhältnisse :> also da "spürt" man dass das bild mehr ist als ein paar pixel auf dem bildschirm, da ist auch noch größe und malgrund und ein reales ding :)

Oh well, I don't thinks German is a very useful language (unless you live in Germany), so it would even be fine if you didn't know those funny phrases. :)

BP1987: Because the quality and the colors don't have to be thaaat perfect, but in return you see a bit more than only the picture itself and so you get a good idea about the scales :> Thus you can "feel" that this picture is more than only a few pixels on your monitor, so size and desk (or wherever you're painting, the word "malgrund" doesn't exist in English) are a real thing :)
PHS: Errrr ... but on that photo there's only the tape I used to glue it to the table, not really much of a comparison of sizes. ;)
