It is a fantasy world, a standard deck of cards could be anything. Could just add an extra card to all suits, and we're good, they don't have the historical attachment to four suits of 13 cards as we do. Hell, in universe a suit of 13 would probably be seen as slightly heretical XD

I need to read the other books, but with some of these series I'm nervous stepping into them without the promise they'll be continuing.
For instance, I kinda feel I made the right call not jumping into "The Wise Man's Fear" yet, since Day Three/Book Three of that series hasn't come out. XD
The first book is EXCELLENT, though.

Okay, love the idea. XD Like he's just so crazy good at card tricks, he's got his own pocket dimension where he keeps a small kitten. It's well-cared for and doesn't suffer, yet he can pull it out at will despite not being any sort of mage.
I may have to play a character like this in an RPG sometime. XD
