So you know how I make some basic fighting game character splats for my other self-inserts/author avatars? Well, guess what, I'm not keeping the Nol himself out of this because I have a recent interest that needs fulfilling, goddammit.
So basically, he'd mostly be a rushdown with a healthy combo game (target combos up the wazoo, because why not?). He'd essentially be a fragile speedster/glass cannon type where one fuck-up could cost him the match, but he still has a lot of options for dishing out hurt when he gets close enough. (I'll admit to acting out some of his potential moves IRL, because I have the mind of an animation/am an alone dork.)
I would actually kinda want to make him into an actual character if I ever work up the gumption to download and learn MUGEN enough to make a good-playing character. Animation wouldn't be too pretty (I'd want to hand-draw everything because I'm a masochist/don't like the look of Flash/would want to more precisely do hitboxes and such), and I'd be probably spending more time actually balancing him than adding to his moveset and such. Still, I think it would be fun.
(And about the costume...I guess I kinda wanted a barbarian-ish feel? The fur-lined top definitely adds to that, but the shorts are pretty modern-ish [exercize clothes, probs, it would be good to have room to breathe], and I don't think the traditional depiction of a barbarian features arm-length leather gloves and knee-high leather socks. There was originally gonna be a string tied in a bow going between the two gloves, but I scrapped it because it was kinda dumb and felt like it would just make him more prone to fashion-based lacerations on the chest.)

Yanno, it's just struck me; the way his fur-lined top has the fur lines in question right next to each other, how the sleeves are way oversized and it trails to cover a bit of his tail gives me the impression that it's a vest originally meant to be worn by a much larger person - and knowing Noli's backstory makes me think it was a tribute of sorts to his more fantasy-esque, perhaps 'brutish' or 'warrior-like' Kobold origins, contrasted by his more modern exercise shorts and fashionable boots and gloves, showing that he has respect for his history and traditions but at the same time is willing to combine them with the new and do something daring with them. I likey.
Also, you'd think tying his hands together would be a bad idea, but for years Iori Yagami wore trousers with a belt binding his legs together and he could fight just fine. :V
