For those born with the blessing of fins, there is a duality of life that must prevail in the seas of liquid glass. When slumber has blanketed the ocean in a cloth of glowing lights, the sapphire fox breaks the surface and hangs between two living worlds. The soft, but gentle lapping of isolated waves kiss its lips as the fox remains afloat, resisting the water’s inviting advances lest it drown beneath the aquatic plains. Up above, the night is silent and uninterrupted by the touch of man. Out here in the watery desert, the brightest sign is lady Moon and her unconditional radiance given to all the lonely creatures of the sea. On nights where her face is turned away, the North Star lights the way for the stranded, wayward souls.
The sapphire fox of fin and fur rides the flow of the waves and turns upward to imagine sailing upon that starry sea. Imagines what it would be like to look up and watch the ripples of the ocean cascade overhead like the realm of heaven must be, all covered in water and tranquil breezes. Into the ocean the fox dives and sees the light show of phosphorescent animals, breaking the deep dark with the lifeblood of their glowing hearts and eyes. A flit and twist and the spinning dazzlers retreat into the unknown borders of the ocean’s heaviest lands.
There’s something occurring overhead. A softening of violet that awakens and turns to rich blues as the fox soars upward through the glistening aurora. The sea is calm but the energy of this new color illuminates and enlivens. There are no other creatures in sight, but the smooth caress of the aura’s warmth pulls up and up until a brilliant golden being is seen beckoning to the children of the depths to come forth and meet it.
The surface is broken and the shimmering form of the fox is crystallized in the droplets of water spraying off its fur, announcing its arrival with vigor and energy. It turns upward and sees that the water made the light beautiful. Now, the brightness is overwhelming and hurts the fox’s eyes as they narrow and become focused to this new arrival. Finally, the hush of the waves urge the fox to look upward and it sees the visitor, the bright beauty that reflects across the ocean plains like twin brothers ready to meet the Earth.
The warmth is wonderful. The sun has risen.
