sphinx is a monster who protects egyptian tombs from being searched. standing he's about 10', which is really intimidating if his face didn't already spook ya. some people say sphinx is a hallucination, an indication the old dust from the tombs has gotten to their heads. it starts to become a bit more than a hallucination once they get swallowed whole.
