A sounding of Succubats? A bluster?
Commission for nsfw-puppo-girl on tumblr
Succubats will work together to find partners, all swarming in together to give the bats who want to partner up time to do so.
Hive members are still debating what to call a bunch of bats, but everyone else calls it a swarm

Aperture Science PD: A Difficulty of Bats
Brad: a Flock?
Bastion: a Gale of Bats?
Fluffy: Maybe something cuter? A Kindergarten of Succubats?
PD-Moth: what's wrong with Swarm?
Bal'Kar PD: It's obviously a Pool of Bats
Hazama: a "Keep those Things away from me" of bats. They remind me too much of cats for some reason.
Magic Weapon PD: pfft why do you fear cats so much?
Sha Rai: hmm I'd go with Cluster of Bats...hmm
2005 PD(kid): a Romp of Bats?

There are many benefits to being a succubat that obtaining normally would be impossible or cost more than a brief moment of pain. They include and are not limited to...
Getting a thin sexy body
occasional tailmaws, big pawbs,
Horns
big titty
instantly fixing gender dysphoria
a healthier, more fit body
The symbiote can help with hormonal and brain chemistry imbalances, helping with things like depression.
a sense of community with other symbionts

By making your body conform to your gender
Then your body will remain conforming to your gender
Hosts keep their personality, memories, and sense of self. Their soul is no more harmed by a succubat than yours is by like, a tapeworm, or petting a cat. Succubats are just animals.

From what I've seen, though, this assimilation is permanent...correct? Like, no reversal from? Again, from what I've seen, those who are involved with the succubats are often unwillingly transformed. So how does one avoid being a victim of accidents or such things with them?
Also, interesting that you mention a tapeworm, what with the parasitic nature of these creatures.
Sorry for all the questions. I've only recently learned about these things, and I'm curious.

It's permanent yes. You avoid them the same way you can avoid like, birds or cats. I'm just generally commissioned to draw people who didn't avoid them. But i dunno just like, move away from them, or cover your butt with something. Go inside. Shake a can full of coins at them.
Yes I also mentioned cats. The point being that they don't mess with your soul, and i'm comparing them to other animals in that sense. because they're animals. Succubats give the hosts stuff in return so they're symbiotic.

I think the main problem I have with the succubat is that it's in essence a parasitic/symbiotic creature operating under a hive structure that's at a level being used as an analogy for being trans. I have no problem with folks being trans, I fully support it in fact, let people be themselves and if they need to make a change, so be it. My main issue is that the succubat isn't presented (usually, and there's still a caveat with that) as a conscious, consensual choice made by a host (though at the same time I do understand that for many people being trans isn't even a conscious choice, it's just something they deeply feel the utmost need to do). It's something that's forced on them, like it or not, and once it's done there's no way back. Then you have the whole aspect of the host's mental state. I'm not in any way putting this across as a 'trans people are nuts' point. I mean that when I look at it from a more scientific viewpoint I see people who may have even been vigorously opposed to the idea of being a symbiont pre batting now being thoroughly invested in supporting a hive structure post bite, to the point of providing monetary and material aid in the form of food for the queens of these hives who are very much self destructive by the backstory's own admission, as they are the definition of resource hogs. Were they simply animals there wouldn't really be an issue with this, because they'd simply divide up territory and fight in certain small areas, ultimately causing limited environmental harm in the process. You couple that kind of animal up to a modern humanoid host though, and that territory can expand to a point that it becomes seriously dangerous to not only the ecology around them but also makes them a very big potential threat to any sentient host-grade life within their area of influence.
Then there's also the idea of these changed individuals attempting to convince others to join the hive, and then when they have the notion of consent (in Kyera's case with her part of the story going on at the moment, the idea of her being curious as to what being batted would be like) or the idea that being batted is something the intended host is okay with, but very, very nervous about, they then sneak in bats in presents, picnic baskets or other innocuous items to force an irreversible change that the recipient may not be prepared for or even actually want. Curiosity does not equal immediately going under the knife, after all. Coupling into that is that there's the implication that there's some form of chemical link between the bat and the host's brain where they can not only make the host's mind balance itself out (basically plying the brain with meds to cure things like depression and always making them happy) influence certain actions taken by the host, ultimately leading to them being enthusiastic about batting others and extremely supportive of their hive and queen (and I'm not even going to go into the mental changes that queens probably go through, not to mention the behavioral ones because the idea that you can go from being a normal person to a literal baby factory dedicated solely to eating as much as you can, pumping out more eggs and then batting up your close friends and family to serve you is something that legitimately scares me).
Ultimately, I love the art, the bats are cute, and heck, I might even try and get a character of mine 'batted at some point, but to me they'd be better served as just a self-serving parasitic organism with some beneficial side effects than an analogy to being trans. That, and I'd want a way to reverse the process.
Still, hope to see more of these from you in the future!
