Why Pounced.org Was REALLY Shut Down
Pounced.org has lied to its users yet again.
But people deserve to know the truth. Many long-time Pounced users already suspect something suspicious about this event, especially considering the lies we are told, including that the law already passed and was enacted. No, it passed the Senate, it still has to be sent to the President for Signature and as of today, has not been yet.
Pounced was NOT shut down because of FOSTA. FOSTA does not affect Pounced as it is described because the legislation only affects websites which promote prostitution. Pounced does not do that. What Pounced does do is provide a place for adults to place dating ads. That is not promotion of prostitution, but it is provision of adult content, and for that, the laws already on the books required that Pounced properly advise users of the adult content and how to filter it, something Pounced did not do and which is in violation of the law which already exists.
No, as you can read here in my response, Pounced.org was shut down (actually, it was not "shut down" the entire website was deleted from the hosting server as evidenced by any search for Pounced.org which will demonstrate that ALL content is unavailable, deleted from the server) because Pounced.org was facilitating, with reckless disregard, the exploitation of minors. The ONLY thing that FOSTA does is make Wolfpac criminally liable.
Read the response to Pounced.org's shut down message and see what you think. Don't just take what Pounced says for granted. Indeed, if Pounced were really interested in serving the community as they claim, they would have sold it to me two months ago when I offered...instead of ignoring me.
And for the record, I restated my offer and it is still open. I will purchase and fix Pouned, and run it legally and without concern for FOSTA. The problems with Pounced before FOSTA were prevalent and never fixed for 13 years. I hardly think cosulting a lawyer will do anything except perhaps keep Wolfpac out of jail. Maybe...
