If we look back on our lifetime...have we really been honest, good people? And even if we have is there a path or regret or pain carved by some few little mistakes that you cannot forget? Guilt is burning down that path...

You wouldn't be. Each crossroad we take in life makes us who we are and even the simplest decisions can make great impacts on who we are. Something as trivial as commenting on a piece of art or deciding to talk to that interesting person or a forum could in the future make you look back and realize that had you not done that you would not have befriended someone who has become close to you.
Even so, I'm afraid I can't share your lack of regret. As much as I try not to regret anything, there are still so many things I'll wish could have gone differently, as futile as that is.

Vosur has a good point. Learning is only ever wasted when the mistake is not realized and remembered. AS we all know time travel is quite improbable at this point in our technological development. To wish you could have done something different is farce and wasteful. You can't do anything about what was done ever, The only thing you can do is avoid making the same mistake again in the future. Tomorrow is done with, the future is not set, but the present is here and now so take advantage of it.
It's all well and good knowing that but sometimes simply knowing isn't enough to actually do it, as is my case.
(as an off-topic point even if we don't get the means of time travel there's bound to be something to stop us from changing stuff, most obviously the paradox that if we changed something to be better then in the future we would never go back to change it because things happened differently <_<; )

Precisely. Although I wonder what would happen if a time paradox did occur...would the space-time continuum be distorted in some way? Would things continue normally against all odds? Who knows what might happen!
Although then again I wouldn't want to risk the universe just to find out :P
