Probably best not to do that, using trade markers/money that you can eat too is kinda a bad idea. Worse when its basicly yinglet pot. On the other hand, I would see a lot more yinglets interested in working with such a pay system.

I feel like Eric should introduce him to the merchant he knows, instead of leaving him to handle it on his own. Or at least warn the guy first.

Neither Eric or Gabriel knows him in person, just that its an old man in a shop.
Besides, Eric got guard duty in a few minutes, wishing him luck is the best he can do.
