Part 1 of a 2 and maybe 3 part piece drawn by the ever amazing  scarlett-the-red :D
Been wanting to do something related to Super Mario Odyssey lately since seeing LPs and speedruns of it, mostly in getting my characters (especially Jessie) dressed up as some of the prominent ladies in the game.
Obviously Jessie is wearing attire worn by famous damsel in distress Princess Peach and Jenet's attire worn by New Donk City Mayor, Pauline. A damsel in her own right. A character who has popped in some works Scarlett has drawn in the past I have named Rachel, makes an appearance dressed up as Harriette Broodal, a wedding planner for the King of Koopa's Bowser and one of the game's chief antagonists.
This piece is a bit of an anomaly as it functions similar to the idea behind the "Video Game Tester Jessie" story I started a long time back and the "Princess Jessie" story series of pics I've commissioned. It's kind of like the characters have been put into the game itself and are existing as themselves, as said the characters in the game. So Jessie is playing as Peach and Jenet is playing as Pauline. This takes place after the events of the game so Peach has been saved and in the middle of her vacation and Bowser has been defeated. However, as Jessie's luck would have it, trouble always seems to find it's way to him and Bowser has been inspired to attempt his scheme to force Peach to marry him once again. This time, with the advice and help from Rachel as Harriette Broodal, he's taking a more covert approach to it this time. While Jessie and Jenet do some shopping and walking around New Donk City, Rachel is spying on them and waiting for the right time to ambush the pair. Jessie is the primary target, but Jenet is a welcome bonus to have in Bowser's clutches. Afterall, what wedding is complete without a wedding singer. Will Rachel and Bowser's goons get the drop on the damsel prone vixens or will Jessie and Jenet recognize the impending danger and make an escape back to their world? Couple of important notes: there a few Nintendo nods in the pic. One might be pretty obvious, but two others might be as easy to notice or recognize. Can you guess the three nods to Nintendo franchises?
(One is a cameo that was intended to be a more recognizable character from the Nintendo lineup, but Scarlett wanted someone a bit more obscure and unique in design and I came across one cool looking gal to fit that mold, much to Scarlett's approval ^_^)
Also there's a fun bit on Jessie's tablet, I'd been wanting to do for awhile now. I can see him putting his own personal stamp on some of his personal items like a tablet cover with his logo on it. ;P
And there's one last important detail that hints to some serious steps for the future of some of my characters. Can you see what that might be? Take a very close look and see if you can spot something that symbolizes a VERY important live changing decision. ;D
