It had been a while since I last drawn my versions of these characters, and this time I wanted to try a different style with them. Bebop (Anton Zeck) still is a sassy, loud-mouthed dweeb in his late 30′s who loves collecting cult movies and 80s/90s anime on VHS, amassing his horde of fashionable sunglasses, and dying his hair all kinds of vivid colors. Rocksteady (Owen Sterenko) is still a military-obsessed, introverted goofball who enjoys cooking, looking big and intimidating, coming up with kit-bashed weaponry, and handling finances. (Bebop, the hyper-active super-otaku who gives away pricey black-market weapons and alien tech in exchange for rare VHS videos, really can’t be trusted with huge sums of money, after all.) Finally, Mondo is still a street-wise, 90s-obsessed, skateboarding, girly geckoboi who always hangs out with older adorkable gays twice his age. After growing up on the streets all his life, finding an accepting group of friends like Bebop and Rocksteady was a welcomed change of pace for Mondo. The Turtles might think Bebop and Rocksteady are weird misfits sometimes, but when things get tough, they can prove to be very strong and reliable allies. Though, don’t get on their bad side; they can hold a grudge if you cross them.

Ahh, I like this version of B&R as much as the Archie TMNT Adventures naked environmentalist pacifist versions. Except in that version, Mondo was murdered. :( These versions of B&R are also already more interesting than the IDW versions - I hoped for greater stories with them after "Destroy Everything," but started really loathing the turn they took in "Hit the Road."
Either way, I'd love to hear a lot more about this incarnation's characters - the adorkable gays, the genderfluid Mondo, the Egyptian-god-turned-Aussie-dressed Leatherhead, all of them. Any other characters in this version incubating in your mind? Triceratons? Hob? Ray? Slash? Splinter? Otto Rattus? You have a captive audience in me with this one.

I do remember you drawing those. But pity, you make your AU sound so fascinating. You've also drawn the only noteworthy Old Hob fanart I've ever seen, which is a sad testament to how obscure and unknown TMNT comics have remained over time even as they continue getting published.
