Kahito_Slydeft Commission - Repairs
So
Kahito_Slydeft was offering character commissions and I tossed my Triceratops self into the ring and he picked me! Woohoo! And so here we have my Triceratops-self working on repairs for some steam generator, pressurizer type thing. Old one went kaput so time to install a new one! Gotta keep the airship flying right after all!
Thanks, Kahito, this is fantastic!

The glasses are to help with that detail work I've got to do from time to time. And yeah, I really love the markings on the hands and arms there. I am really blown away by this; you'll note I made it my new avatar and even made sure to get some of the arm in there so we can see those markings.
I feel like my Triceratops self captures my inner Mike Rowe. I wish I could be physical and work with my hands to build and repair things. My Triceratops self does this and it is very rewarding.

You aren't too far off, "Dieselpunk is a genre similar to steampunk that combines the aesthetics of the diesel-based technology of the interwar period through to the 1950s with retro-futuristic technology and postmodern sensibilities."
More or less its a step up from Steampunk with 1940s-1950s asthesthics, and styles.
For example there can be "art-deco", diesel, nuclear power, tesla, electricity, armor civilian life style.
That is just one of many aspects.

I always like the look of the technology used during WWII and there's cool stuff in the decades before, so I would certainly like to see more Dieselpunk style stuff. Would the look of "Flash Gordon" qualify as it had its start in that era?
I may want to look more into this as I speculate on what my Triceratops world is like as I imagine there are different levels of technology being used.

"Flash Gordon: An Atompunk Hero for a Dieselpunk World. The Atompunk hero began in the great depression. Tales of outer space, wild futures, and ray guns, always ray guns became immensely popular, thanks to the invention of the daily comic strip Buck Rogers in the 25th Century"
I would personally say yes
That is up to you my friend, my Dinosaur world (well its a Ringworld, not a planet) is full of Dieselpunk, their outfits aren't QUITE dieselpunk themselves, but the architecture, technology and etc are of that genre i love. It looks "old" but its advanced.

I certainly think all of those elements have a home for what I'm trying to develop. Some places would be more of one than the other, but that depends on where in the world we've come. Lots for me to still figure out after all.
I would love to see a picture of our characters interacting with elements form these techs woven in.

Well, different levels of technology was something I was thinking of to begin with, but to have various eras and already existing "looks" to inspire it will help with the creative process. So you gave a name to something and a look to something I think should be captured there. Now I just need to write it!
Do you have any pictures of your ceratopsid self in a Dieselpunk setting yet?

Another good reason to give it a try! At least working on some equipment and the like just to play around and see what you can do. If you love the style, be good to try your paw at it.
I need to save up money for it first, but something I'd be willing to go for if you're interested (and we concur on an artist).

Hmm, equipment or other? I suppose incould gice it a whirl at some point. I'd have to find a pose to work off of for assistance. Still notngood with angles mentally, so help is always needed ^^;
I believe you've seen the jumpsuit get up right?
Hmm, perhaps sometime in the near future, fibdibg an artist sure

A good book on drawing scenes can probably help with perspective issues. And there are always tools for digital art for managing angles, and there's tools for traditional art too! I remember having to learn perspective in my Middle School Art Class. Useful stuff, even if I never stuck with it.
Yes I did. Looked like a Science Fiction setting from the description.
Just something to keep in mind.

Cool! Always nice when you can come up with epic designs. I confess I love the uniform design used by my Triceratops self in this Sci-Fi setting: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20655982/

I recently found out that when I say "this is one of the better commissions you've received" it apparently comes off as me dissing all the other commissions that have come before that. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say instead. Would it sound better to people if I just said "I like this just as much as all the rest?" That doesn't sound very sincere. XD
I'll just say I like this one a lot and it's a good one. Kahito really brought this character to life. Wearing an apron now looks cool.
I'll also be taking some drawing hints from this picture when I draw trikes in the future.

If you like this one better than previous ones, it's okay to say that. I clearly liked this one so much I immediately changed my icon to use the face from this so I must really like it in a way beyond others I've received.
Awesome! There's a lot to recommend here! I know I want to have more done by Kahito for my Triceratops self once I can justify the money.
