The time passed quickly and the next thing the three knew, they were at the airport. Nicholas, Shine, and Kilroy all had their passports ready. For the she wolf, this wasn't a surprise but the fosky and vixen had them. For Shine, it was for travel, while the male wouldn't share the reason as to why he had one. "I'm with you there," Nicholas agreed and the three sat down and buckled up. "I'm just glad you were able to find the time to come with us."

"Yes!" Shine whispered, embarrassed. "I do porn and striper things!"
The silence between the two was awkward. The male always suspected that the vixen, being such a beautiful one, had some relationships as it was for the fosky. Suddenly the flight attendants came around while one made the announcement that soon they would take off. "So Doctor Kilroy, when will we head out to the temple?" the fosky asked the she wolf to distract himself from what Shine had told him.
"We'll spend a few days in the city before heading out," the second female answered. "When we reach the hotel, I'll explain more there."
The plane then took off. There was a movie playing and food served in the first class cabin. It was a good thing as the film distracted Nicholas from what Shine had told him about her work. The fosky also talked some more with Kilroy. But in his mind the guy had decided that even with that knowledge, he wanted to be with Shine because he loved her and wanted to give her a better kind of life. However, now wasn't the time to talk about a confession to her. The fosky still needed to act on what he had in mind. If things at the temple went the way he thought, then it could happen.
Finally after some hours, the plane landed in Brazil. The group of three got off the vehicle, happy to stretch their muscles after sitting down for so long. It was close to getting to night, so the only thing that was done was heading to the hotel rooms. The females got one, and the male got another to himself. Plans were made to meet and hang out during the next day. Nicholas then bade the she wolf and vixen goodnight before locking his room door. He had arranged everything out including the few things that had to go through customs to get to this county.The fosky flopped on one of the beds, the thought of Shine doing porn coming back to his head. Nicholas couldn't take it anymore and turned on his laptop. A few clicks and keystrokes was all that it took and the result left the fosky in shock, and quickly closing out.

"The plan is to take a jeep out into the jungle," the she wolf explained. "It can only go so far. Then we'll walk the rest of the way. it's about a mile and a half so it should take us half an hour."

"When we reach the site, let me do the talking and then I lead you in. From there we'll see if your key works Nicholas." By this point Shine had been told everything that had happened at that meeting. "Now get some sleep and be ready to hike so good boots or shoes are needed with backpacks to carry water and the right kind of clothes."

The three were early to rise up. They met in the lobby and Shine noticed Nicholas had a walking stick, that was thick like a staff with him that was shoulder height. However at one end was a heavy hunting knife, tied by strong cord. Another one was on his right hip. "Are those needed?" the vixen asked.
"You never know what we'll run into the jungle," he replied.
"He's right," Kilroy stated. "At least you're ready as well Shine." The vixen had on boots with rugged clothes in shades of pink and blue.
The thee then left the hotel lobby and met up with the person who would drive them. The ride was pleasant enough. Then came the point of dropping off. Kilroy thanked the driver and led the way into the jungle. As it turned out the knives Nicholas had did come in hand as several times he had to hack and cut a path through the dense growth. Shine noticed the way he handled the job. It was almost like he was wielding weapons for a fight. But the vixen then shrugged it off. It was probably nothing. Some pics were taken and even a short ten minute break was done. But then finally at last after going over a small hill the three came to a clearing and saw it. "Welcome to the temple we found," Kilroy stated.
Shine and Nicholas looked. They saw a valley and stones laid out in a path to a temple that was huge. All of it along with stone pillars were worn down and had some vegetation growing on them. There was also a good sized camp set up near the edge of this place. Kilroy led the way down into it. There the head archeologist greeted them and after some words, the group of three dropped their backpacks off at one of the tents. Lunch was then eaten since it was close to that time while resting. An hour latter, the trio was ready to head out. "Follow me and I'll show you with what I meant," the she wolf said as they began to make their way to the temple. Nicholas brought his walking stick and two knives just in case.
They then climbed up the worn steps. Shine had a distant look and the fosky noticed it. "You okay?" he asked.
"Oh! Yes!" she replied. "It's just strange…"
"What's strange?"
"It's just… I've never been here before in my life. So then why…? Why does it feel like I've walked here before? That this seems so familiar."
Kilroy wasn't paying any attention to the other two. "Worry about that latter," Nicholas said. "Let's just get inside at least."

Soon they were at the top of the stairs and at the entrance. With a nod, they went inside and turned on some flashlights since it was dark. They saw the stones here were cracked a bit and worn. However just like Kilroy had said there were pictures on the walls, showing the life of the priestess who this place had been built for. "Look at the detail of them," the male said, going up to a section and touching one of the paintings that were small like the size of Egyptian hieroglyphics. "While they made be like crude drawings you can tell the story they tell."
The guy looked at the current ones. "It seems she was born here." The pics showed two adult foxes holding a bundle that was a female kit. Shine suddenly heard a whispering sound coming from the depths of the temple. Not a creepy one, but one that carried light and strength. She turned her head as did Nicholas.
"You hear that?" she whispered, shrinking closer to the male.
"Yeah," he replied.
"Hear what?" Kilroy asked.
"Didn't you hear that whispering sound?" the vixen asked. The she wolf shook her head. "I guess… it was a trick on the ears." Yet Shine knew it wasn't. The sense of being here before, the familiarity, had grown even more since stepping foot in here.
The group continued down the hall, seeing the story continue. They saw the kit grow up into the priestess. Then a fork in the path happened. "Which way now?" Nicholas asked Kilroy.
"We take a right," the female answered. The pictures continued. They saw the priestess with her staff but no pictures showed how she had gotten it or how it had been made. This was pointed out.
"Yes, that's one thing these pictures don't say," Kilroy replied. "Perhaps we'll find the answer out today."
A couple more turns happened, showing the priestess watching the temple being built in her honor, performing duties, before finally being laid to rest in here. By this point an archway appeared. "In there is the statue I told you about," the she wolf stated.
They all went in and noticed the brown colored stones in here. There were windows to let in light so the flashlights were turned off. "This area was built to honor the priestess. But as for her resting place… well you know that story. The door that blocks the way is a bit deeper in."
"Well first things first is to see this statue," Nicholas said.
The trio walked pass this room into the next one. And there at last they saw it. The group walked up to it and they saw the statue was made up of the same stone as the room. It was perfectly preserved due to being out of the elements. The detail work was amazing as they could see the hair, clothes, eyes, ears, everything perfectly. The staff was being held in the vixen's left paw. The clothes they could see was a top to cover the chest that left the shoulders and stomach exposed. There were forearm gauntlets of some kind as well. For the lower half of the body was a long robe like piece that kept the legs exposed.

"That is…" Shine whispered.
"It's as you think," Kilroy replied. "The statue of the priestess I told you two about."
"Wow… now I see what you mean," Nicholas commented. "She really does look so much like you Shine."
"I can see it to," the vixen agreed. She walked up to the statue and touched it. The feeling of familiarity and of being here before was even stronger. Now there was something else. Something in her memories. It was fuzzy but Shine couldn't really make it out. What was it?
"Now then, the door is just ahead," Kilory said, causing the other two to look at the she wolf. The followed her through another archway. A small hallway latter found them in a smaller room that also had windows. There right ahead was a huge wall with paintings on it. There were two statues on either side of this which looked like foxes of some kind with spears. The paintings all showed different aspects of the temple and the city it had once been a part of. In the center was a hole. Shine took one step forward, that whispering sound heard by the female again. Nicholas did as well and walked forward to it. He could see writing of some kind and how the pictures did show just what Kilroy had said to him about this.
"Now is the moment of truth," she said as both the vixen and female wolf joined him with the two in front of her.
For the vixen the fuzzy thing in her memories was becoming a bit clearer but not something she could see. Nicholas in the meantime took the key he had shown the other female from his pocket. With a breath, he inserted it with the head part going in. With a turn, this proved it was a perfect fit. The key was removed and the door slowly slid apart in two halves. The three watched it open to reveal a new path. "So that was needed…" Kilroy whispered. "You really had it after all."

The fosky and vixen took some steps forward. Suddenly a wall rose up from the ground, separating the trio, causing all to realize what happened. "Shit!" Nicholas explained.
"Oh no!" Shine exclaimed, shrinking to his side.
"Are you okay?!" Kilroy asked, her voice able to be heard by the other two.
"Yeah!" the fosky replied. "I didn't know this would happen!"
"No one did! Don't worry, there should be another exit! We found out by the paintings there was more than one built to be safe! I'll see what I can do on this end! Don't panic and try to find your way out!"
"Okay." He then turned to Shine who had a scared look on her face. The fosky pulled her in tight, kissing her hair. "Shhh… it's going to be okay. I'm here, okay?" Being in his arms, hearing Nicholas's encouraging voice gave the vixen the courage she needed. They both nodded and turned to face what lay ahead.

"Okay." He then turned to Shine who had a scared look on her face. The fosky pulled her in tight, kissing her hair. "Shhh… it's going to be okay. I'm here, okay?" Being in his arms, hearing Nicholas's encouraging voice gave the vixen the courage she needed. They both nodded and turned to face what lay ahead.
