Weekend Movie
Lora and her friends dispersed out the front doors of the school, the weekend finally here. Even though it was their first week of school, they were already swamped with school work and huge projects needing to work on sometime during the weekend, but they were happy about today. Because today was Friday, and they all knew what that meant at the female vampire's house.
Her mom didn’t really mind the kids staying at their house for movies, snacks and games. She enjoyed the company of Lora's friends, making them feel happy. Lora and Luna held their heads high, relieved that it was the weekend. Naomi and Alouette were nearly dead, having a hard workout the last day of school and had many brain puzzling and frustrating work and projects before that. Ellsworth and Floyd were in the middle.
“Well, one week down. A thousand more to go…” Floyd let out sadly, earning small laughs from his friends.
“Look on the bright side; it only gets harder from here,” Naomi replied back to the shapeshifter. The guy gave her a strange look that really made no sense at all.
“How is that a bright side?”
“It is for me, for you; probably not.” She gave him a cute face, as he just shrugged it off. As the group continued to walk Lora noticed Nicholas heading to his car.
“Nicholas!” the female vampire called out to him. The male turned around at the sound of her voice, with her leaving the rest of the group to run and catch up with him. The rest all followed behind her.
“Hey Lora, is there something you need?” Nicholas asked nicely.
“Oh, not really. I’m just wondering mainly are you working today?”
"Not at all. I take Fridays off. I'm pretty much heading home. If you some of you need a ride home I can give them and you a lift."
"Sounds good!" Lora replied with a smile. Ellsworth and Luna told the group they'd get a ride home by different means since they had plains arranged. Floyd was fine since there would be another male in the car. He even said he'd take the middle seat in the back. When they got there Lora got in the passenger side next to Nicholas while the other two ladies got on either side of Floyd. The vehicle drove down the road, the group jut having small talk until they would all be dropped off. With Lora's help Nicholas got everyone off just fine and then it was onto her house right by his. The conversation the two had was mainly just how school was and the like. He then pulled up to the curb next to the female's house.
“Well were here, I’ll catch you sometime during the weekend alright?”
“Ok then, that sounds good.” She got out of the car with her things, and walked around over to his side and talked to him through the window as she did just the other night. “Thanks for the ride, if you keep this up you’re going to make me feel guilty about all of this.” They shared a small laugh. Nicholas didn’t really take her words into consideration, he was happy to be helping Lora, and didn’t feel as if the female owed him or anything. Even though the male had only known her for five days he felt that way already with being happy.
“No problem, like I said it’s no trouble either. I live right down the street, so it’s all good you know?” The guy made a hand gesture pointing down the street and they shared nice smiles.
“Well alright then, I’ll treat you to lunch sometime then. See you later.” Lora turned around starting to walk to her front door, Nicholas watching her as she did so. Then the female had an idea cross his mind.
“Say are you doing anything tonight?” Lora asked, turning back to look at him.
“No, not really. I don't have any plains,” Nicholas admitted.
“Well if that’s the case, why don’t you come over my house for movie night tonight? You could hang out with all of us and have fun.” His face lit up at the thought.
“Sure, that sounds like a blast. Give me a moment.” The guy got his phone out and sent a message. Lora then felt hers go off and saw the male had texted her his number. "Now you can call me a bit early before it starts so I can walk over."
"Okay, I'll see you soon." Lora turned around and head in the front door while he drove to his home. The female went to the kitchen to begin preparing for movie night and found her mother very dressed up.
“Hello Lora, you better get ready for your movie night; I'm going out tonight.” Her daughter was a bit shocked. The succubus always watched over the kids, to make sure nothing bad happened. However Mrs. Vicious though they were young adults, and felt as though she could trust them this one night.
“You are?” Lora asked the older female in a surprised tone. Mrs. Vicious was a bit busy and didn’t bother to turn towards her daughter as she was peeling potatoes.
“Yes, I have a dinner meeting tonight. A little on the short notice I know.”
“Oh, well that sound good.” Lora joined her mother in the kitchen, giving whatever aid she could. While that was going on the younger female began to prepare stuff for movie night. She was a bit nervous for her question, but felt as though since the guests weren't here, it was best if she asked now.
“Hey mom…" Lora started out slowly. “Do you think I could have another friend over?”
“I suppose it’s alright, as long as they don’t make a mess around the house.” Mrs. Vicious stopped and turned to her daughter, feeling as though this was important. “Who’s your friend?”
“It's Nicholas whom you met,” Lora let out nervously. While it wasn't her father, the younger female knew her mother always thought of cute ideas. The succubus was doing so just now. The older female let out a happy giggle and nodded.
“Sure honey, it’s alright with me. But I'm not going to be around tonight, so why don’t you go give him a quick call. You two can go grocery shopping for tonight, and he can stay around here until I leave and your other friends show up.”
“Okay, that sounds good.” After the preparations were finished, it was off to her phone. “Thanks mom!” Mrs. Vicious just had a happy smile across her her face as she was making dinner. Lora picked up the phone and started dialing Nicholas's number after adding it to the contacts she had. There was only two rings before the female heard his voice.
“Hey Lora. What's up?”
“Nothing too much Nicholas. Anyway things have changed a little. My mom isn't going to be around tonight, so it’s going to be just us."
"She must really trust you. And don't worry, I promise there won't be any funny business. I just finished talking to my folks about going over and they think it's a great idea."
“Okay that sounds good.” Lora then switched to the other matter at hand. She told him of how the male would have to come a bit early and to go grocery shopping with her as well. It would be a good hanging out time.
“Sure that’s okay."
“I'll see you up in about 15 or so.”
“See ya.” They hanged up and Lora went to go take a shower and prepare for the night. After the female was done she put on clean clothing and put on one of the sweet scents she liked. Lora emerged out of her room and towards the kitchen. There she got the shopping list and cash from her mother. The vampire bolted out the door to find him already waiting for her. Lora ran over to the male and got into the front seat. They studied the other for a moment. The female figured he was trying to look good for tonight like with her. The guy had put on a fresh pair of clothing just as she did, and if Lora didn’t know better, the male had put on a type of cologne; or at least a good scent.
They had small talk as they went to the supermarket and picked up the various things Lora's house needed as well as snacks for tonight. They had almost nonstop chatter as they went down the list of things to buy. It felt so normal, as if they could just be themselves when it was just them, like they had nothing to hide. But then as Nicholas was grabbing something for Lora on one side of the shelving, she grabbed something also. Their hands bumped into one another as they did so, making them both jump back a bit. They both blushed a bit, a little embarrassed.
“Oh, sorry,” the female quietly let out as she quickly placed the item into the cart. The male did the same, and an awkward silence fell among them.
“Don’t worry about it," was all he said plainly. It was just an accident. Lora just took his word for it, and forgot about it, enjoying this time with him. After they paid and departed from the store, they went into the home, both having bags in their hands. Lora walked into the kitchen where her mother was just about done preparing for dinner with Nicholas right behind her.
“Hey mom.” The younger female set the groceries on the counter, and started to unpack some.
“Hey you two," the succubus replied. "Thanks for bringing in the groceries."
"Not a problem," the male vampire said. "Thanks for having me over."
“Oh the pleasure’s all mine hon.” Lora then decided to show him around the house. There was still a lot of time till everyone else came over. It turned out a lot of the music they listened to was the same interests, along with books, and things to watch. While it was true Lora didn't do video games like Nicholas, she was shown a bit of his favorites and could see why he liked them. Mrs. Vicious then went out and so the teens moved to the living room, sitting in the loveseat there and watched a local show until the others began to show up. They were surprised but happy to have Nicholas over when learning he had been invited.
The group started with a comedy movie. Then a short time passed and a ding went off in the kitchen, letting everyone know it was time for the food. It was a good break and they ate around the dinning room table since Mrs. Vicious didn't want them eating in the living room. Once the food was finished, it was back to the movie. But then Floyd selected a horror movie and Lora got a nervous look. "What is it?" Nicholas asked.
"I don't like horror movie like I don't like fighting," she replied.
"Don't worry, it's a cheesy one," the red haired skull kid replied. "Or if you really get scared Nicholas is next to you." The sudden remark granted a slight blushing across both vampire's faces. They gave him an annoyed look while the Flyod inserted the movie and took a seat next to Luna who got closer to him. Alouete did the same thing with Ellsworth. Naomi noticed this but didn't mind at all. Lora did scoot closer to Nicholas, their legs now touching. As it turned out the movie was cheesy to the point there were moments even she laughed. But there were some jump scares and when the first one happened, the female vampire turned away from it, digging her face into Nicholas's shoulder with a whimper of fear. Lora stayed like that for awhile, not wanting to turn back to watch the movie until realizing just what she was doing.
She quickly picked herself up and placed herself in her original position, now embarrassed at what she did in front of everybody. “Oh, sorry Nicholas,” Lora let out quietly, blushing hard.
“It’s alright, it happens to everybody," he replied, blushing to but smiling. She took in his reassuring words, as everything was alright. When the movie was over, the time was ended with a little T.V and games.
After a while the parents came to pick up their kids, leaving Nicholas and Lora by themselves. But since he lived so close to her, they figured the male would just walk. However, the female didn't want to say goodnight just quite yet so they walked over to the male's house. They had small talk before reaching it. It was dark all around them as they stood next to the front door. "I hope you had fun Nicholas," Lora said. "I'm really glad you came over."
'Thanks for having me over Lora," he replied. "Your friends are great and your mom is a good monster." An awkward moment of silence came around, neither of them making a movement or gesture to end the talk; ending the night. However he was able to.
"Well… I'll see you on the weekend I hope," the male said softly. The female nodded and their eyes seemed to stare deep into the other's soul. Nicholas went inside, not taking his eyes off Lora with a smile and closed the door. The female was left in a daze just slowly walking back and a slight blush on her face and smile. Lora didn't know what it meant but still there was no doubt she would see the male vampire again.
