A look at what's become of Jon, the human boy turned slug-girl, some years after the events of "Iridescent Sun." She's pretty much adjusted to life as a demi-human woman, and things with her classmate Tim have worked out rather well, as their two children can attest :)
Ernestine, the older of the two, is around seven or eight here. She looks a lot like Jon at that age, apart from being female and half-human. Named (in a girl-variant) for Jon's grandfather. She'd probably be considered a tomboy if she were more athletic; as is, she's on the quiet, bookish side. She's a bit timid and slow to make friends, but is very affectionate towards the people she does like. She has her father's tinkering, hobbyist nature.
Madeline, the younger sister, is about five here, and goes by Maddie. She's the more typically girly of the two. She's also the more exuberant and energetic, which means she can be a bit of a hellion when she's in a bad mood, but she's basically a good kid. Likes to draw. Also likes to sing (usually your typical small-child half-and-half real lyrics and stream-of-consciousness ramble,) but isn't very good at it - not that that stops her ;)

Been a million years since I posted anything here...but I'm squeaking in just under the wire for TheDangerCat's "March Needs Moms" thing over on DA. I've been wanting to submit something for it since I heard about it, but I was too busy with other stuff to do something from scratch. Fortunately, I realized a couple days ago that I had this totally thematically appropriate picture I'd sketched years ago when my collaborator chompy and I were discussing where things might be a decade-ish after the end of "Iridescent Sun." Granted, it's not exactly drawing myself as a mom, but I have drawn myself as a slug-girl, and Jon coincidentally shares a name with me, so...what the hell. I'm not super happy with the proportions (and the sketch was even worse about it,) and I really ought to just redraw the whole thing one of these days, but I'll at least get a proper coloring job done sometime this week...
