While history and legends boast many tales of grand rivalries, none are quite as great as that of the rivalry between the goddess Lenus and her brother Raziel. From the creation of Jo’Arca to the blessings they bestowed upon their favored races to the creation of Ivoryhelm, there has always been a sense of competition and one-upmanship between the god of earth and fire and the goddess of the seas.

And so it is no surprise that the rivalry often continues on in their races...with fishers in particular being notorious for asserting their superiority to the races not blessed with the ability to breathe both water and air. To many fishers, it is their goddess given right to show up the races of the land, the results often being violence. But there are exceptions. One such being the Festivale of Fools.

It began in part due to the crafters, one of the few races both Raziel and Lenus bless. Not wanting to actually slay or commit outright violence but still wishing to prove themselves more clever, the fishers began adapting to mischievous pranks against their crafter kin. Which over the course of time the habit began to be picked up by other races looking onward until eventually a celebration festival was created around such activities. And in an odd turn of events, the celebration was then adapted by the fishers themselves so that it is the time of year fishers are less prone to violence and use it as a means to show off their cleverness by pranking the other races...instead of just sinking their ships outright.
