Looking to the night sky, remembering old memories... so long ago.
I can't remember exactly where I got the inspiration for this from, but I think it was from a song.
A digital piece of art in panorama format. There will be a limited large canvas print (40 x 80cm / 15.7 x 31.5 inches) in the Eurofurence Art Show. I also have regular prints at my table, but man, the colors of the canvas print are SO much more brilliant and better than the laser prints! :)
Done with Photoshop and Wacom tablet.

There's a song out there, "Dragon's Fire," that this piece fits perfectly...
It opens on
Sitting around, feeling lost in my pain,
didn't know what I was gonna do.
A flash of lightning, a blinding light,
and I was looking right up to you!
And ends on the chorus,
I'll be there for you!
I'll be there for you!
I will stay with your memory
And be it to the end of the world.[/i[

This reminds me of a song...
"A single thread in a tapestry
Through its color brightly shine
Can never see its purpose
In the pattern of the grand design
And the stone that sits on the very top
Of the mountain's mighty face
Does it think it's more important
Than the stones that form the base?
So how can you see what your life is worth
Or where your value lies?
You can never see through the eyes of man
You must look at your life
Look at your life through heaven's eyes
Lai-la-lai...
A lake of gold in the desert sand
Is less than a cool fresh spring
And to one lost sheep, a shepherd boy
Is greater than the richest king
If a man lose ev'rything he owns
Has he truly lost his worth?
Or is it the beginning
Of a new and brighter birth?
So how do you measure the worth of a man
In wealth or strength or size?
In how much he gained or how much he gave?
The answer will come
The answer will come to him who tries
To look at his life through heaven's eyes
And that's why we share all we have with you
Though there's little to be found
When all you've got is nothing
There's a lot to go around
No life can escape being blown about
By the winds of change and chance
And though you never know all the steps
You must learn to join the dance
You must learn to join the dance
Lai-la-lai...
So how do you judge what a man is worth
By what he builds or buys?
You can never see with your eyes on earth
Look through heaven's eyes
Look at your life
Look at your life
Look at your life through heaven's eyes!"
Listen to the soul of time and the heart of the space between fate and destiny, and thus shall you see the many names of truth, the names made by many wisemen but all leading to the one and only.

Danke nochmals und eine wunderschöne Nacht!

There was a song we sang in the college choral:
Once upon a time....a girl with moonlight in her eyes...put her hand in mind...and said she loved me so....but that was once upon a time, very long ago.
Once upon a hill....we sat beneath a willow tree....counting all the stars...and waiting for the dawn....but that was once upon a time, now that tree is gone.
How the breeze...ruffled in her hair, how we always laughed as though tomorrow wasnt there...we were young, and did not have a care....where, did it go?
Once upon a dream...the world was sweeter than we knew...everything was ours....how happy we were then....but somehow once upon a time....never, comes, again.
Its a sad song
But it goes well with this pic

I was looking at some favorites of a friend and that led me to your gallery. I then asked myself.... why I haven't had you on my watch list. You have some wonderful work here. A wide veriety of themes and styles. What sealed the deal is this work. I always admire an artist that buts so much of themslves into their work. And you certainly did that here. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is a beautiful and heartfelt work. }:=)
I know this feeling. The pain of loss in a mate you thought was meant for you but time and differences changed everything and throws a wrench in your lifetime plans of "I promise" and "forever". That was an old life though.
Thankfully now I have found my promise of forever with my current mate. He is my first, best, only, and last.
This picture beautifully immortalizes that moment when you sit and think on how you lost everything and thought it would last but its just a memory of something you could never keep as hard as you tried to hold on tight to it. Wonderfully done. Amazing and hauntingly beautiful. ;_;

"If you love someone, let them go. If they return, they were always yours. If they don't, they never were."
That's what I need to think about whenever I see this piece. Though it is extremely beautiful, and I may buy it off Tani's website, it fills me with extreme sadness. I picture myself as the wolf on the cliff, constantly replaying in my head those magical moments of pure euphoria I experienced when first meeting the person I ended up having immense feelings for, thinking they had those same feelings for me... KNOWING they had those same feelings for me. And then... their feelings go away, while yours continue to linger on, and on, and on...
It's tough, but if they don't come back after you let them go, it was never meant to be.
Beautiful piece.
