Yep, that art school edjumacashun did come in handy when composing the comic page and spotting areas of solid black; giving it nice weight and solidity. I really punished myself by choosing to add all that hand drawn hatching; I wanted to avoid the "machined" look of tone screens. Jaime Hernandez was my comic strip art god at the time and his influence shows throughout The Bottom End strip.
