Figure the more colored work I do, the more feed back I'll get on this idea. I played with paintbrushes in photoshop. It might be too busy but I wanted a textured look with a semi 70's background feel. If there a correct term to the swirling liquid patterns they had at the end of Billy and Mandy. I love those things and they come from the 70s...anyway I just made something up myself.
I'm gonna have another good picture of Eddie soon with falter colors and testing out what scheme I like best.

I like the idea and concept behind this show, and that (mixed with the style) makes me think of an amalgam between Super Jail and Spongebob Squarepants, with a little bit of Pee Wee's Playhouse mixed in for flavor.
Music does help in the overall essence of a show, and a good enough theme will have you thinking of that series often, even when the show isn't on. Honestly, some songs I hear that sound anything like my favorite show triggers that series in my mind.
I really like what you're doing with this, and I can only describe some of what's on today as "gonzo" in its style, presentation, and acceptance by the hoi polloi. Not all shows look that great but, in this weird look, it offers a zany goodness that keeps the viewer attracted. Considering the things you've created before, I know you can pull this off quite well.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us all. Keep up the goodness, and may you have good fortune upon all of your creative endeavors.

I can't comment on blogger, so I'll comment here- I love this guy a LOT! i also had no idea that the main street electrical parade was called baroque hoedown. that's awesome, I need to further investigate Perry-Kingsley.
mighty b and camp lazlo seem to be very brown. like scooby doo. i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but chowder has a much prettier color scheme, and flapjack looks dark without being overly brown. despite the brown-ness i really like mighty b and camp lazlo. btw chowder's music is by some guys who are in the reggae groud sanddollar sound, apparently.
BUT about eddie eel- I love his design, the color scheme you chose, and the concept. seems like the warden from superjail was also based on that type of eccentric, well-dressed 70s kids show host. your drawings of him are so energetic! shark is really cute too, and i like the nix. gulper's design(the jaw) seems kind of awkward but i love the idea of his character, and that he'd have a kappa for a sidekick. it's awesome that you're using both underappreciated marine life as well as more obscure mythical creatures than mermaids.
i'm excited to see how this develops!!

Odd you can't post to blog because I thought I had it open for all viewers. Well that's I allow comments on the FA and DA links too.
I do seem to be getting a lot of Warden comments and I guess it's the glasses. With that in mind it's gonna be interesting to see where they take Superjail next season. Regardless, Eddie is far more nicer and a do gooder but there is that element of creating madness for the sake of his amusement.
