Alyn fursuit head w.i.p
[pronounced "al-een"]
After over a year, the head is starting to look decent :U (yes. a year. and it's not even the body.)
I haven't been working on it constantly, just on and off. Believe it or not, it's the same head found here and here. The eye is currently made of printed paper and backed with some scrap string mesh from an old backpack, because I'm broke and can't afford buckram ones, so right now I have tearduct vision (terrible for your first time).
The nose is temporary too, until I can buy one or miraculously sew one that looks good and fits right.
The main airway is in the mouth (which needs expanding), and the top of the head is hollow. There aren't actually any blue streaks under the eye, it's the light bouncing off of the paper.
As far as I'm concerned, the work gone into the head and its shape is completely inefficient, and will definitely bite me temperature-wise. The base was made with green foam (first link), but I couldn't get the shape right and was running out of it, so I ended up sewing over the foam with red corduroy and stuffing it with cotton (second link). THEN I started sewing fur over it. As a result, the head fits snug and can get hot quickly, but it is breathable so that's a start.
