In pelicans though, it is often a 'two way drain', and in a few hours we might see a small packet of compressed cheetah fur and partially dissolved, larger bones come back up. In more omnivorous birds, with a more powerful gizzard, like a crane, emu or ostrich, the 'drain' only goes down. Nice drawing and thanks for sharing!
