Hey Hey Hey guys! New Month, New Brand, New.....whatever. XD
Doing this one a little early due to a local con I'm prepping for. After alot of brands I've been going for, one particular one has always been there in the humidor. My Father Cigars. It's about time to give them some reviews. Let's Jump into it!
My Father La Opulencia:
Wrapper: Mexican Rosado Oscuro
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Pre-Light/Construction:
From the box itself, alot of special emblems and arches to signify that there is ALOT of status coming from the family. Each stick tightly packed in there, I had to be slightly picky in picking one out. Once out of the box and the cellophane wrapping I looked upon the construction. With a dark Mexican wrapper, it was like a neatly designed leather vest and the bands were like an emblem for it. Like one of those rich prick night clubs where you must have a certain attire to attend. The seems and veins were minimum at best. Mainnly blended in with how dark and cleanly dense the wrapper was. Overall, a beautifully made stick. A box press for that matter. Let's get into it.
The Burn Part 1:
It's a very nice day outside and the club had a high table and chair out on the porch, so I set up shop and had the smoke there while typing the review for the Asylum 13 Ogre. Such a lovely fucking day. The first few puffs let out alot of smoke and the wind was not even there to mess up my taste. The first flavor note was sweet like a lighter and tamer cocoa note. Some medium black pepper came, but was very gentle compared to how some other smokes start out. It was a nice day and this cigar was a nice choice not only to start with, but even better where I was smoking. Some medium oak notes soon came into play giving more of a blending with the cocoa notes. Very nice medium body in the start.
The Burn Part 2:
Sooner as the stick went along, some earthy notes joined the oak, giving a gentle side of nature taste. The pepper notes started to build up in strength a bit. The burn on it was very even along with a smooth draw so far. The cocoa notes became a little thicker and denser, but still had a smooth gentleness to them. So far still going smooth in taste. Body is now between medium and full.
The Burn Final:
The earthy notes have become a little more more vibrant and herbal a bit.The cocoa notes started to dwindle a bit back while the pepper stayed in it's regular state of strength. Mainly a close neck in neck between the pepper and earthy oak notes to the last puff where it became a tie. The cigar at this point was becoming spongey so it was time to let it rest in the ashtray as I took another swig of my scotch.
Verdict:
Sophisticated, Rich, and Smooth are the few ways to describe this little gem in a stick. I highly recommend this for any occasion. Grab yourself a few.
