“Do not judge me by my looks: I am far more than what meets the eye. Define me by what battles I fight each day. Define me by my courage to face them as I rise above no matter how difficult…I WILL survive despite all odds in my life because I am strong…”
“What the hell…did she just jump on top of a Shinkansen?!”
A security guard stationed near the platform watched as the lyolf sprinted on top of the moving train. Apparently she was chasing after someone covered from head to toe in military-grade armor, their face obscured by a mask. The guard, still in disbelief over seeing someone not only leap on top of a train but actually running on it while it was moving, tried to take a picture or video on his phone of the incident, knowing no one at the station would dare believe this was really happening. However, he was only to capture a blur of her movement against the train.

Tokyo, a city of beauty. Yet also full of hidden dangers and criminals if you are not careful. To the untrained eye, Tokyo appears to be your typical, bustling city. But for the rest of us that are familiar with the darker side of society, Tokyo is the best place to find trouble and some of the country’s most wanted criminals up for bounty…if you knew where to look that is.
The wolfcat had been tracking this target for well over three months now. Their movements, their routine, their hangouts- critical data that would prove useful in tracking and taking them down. Unfortunately, this mission was not as simple as assassinating a target and collecting a bounty. This person was also an assassin- and a skilled one at that. An assassin killing an assassin? Poetic justice. But for Whisper, that also meant she would have to be one step ahead of them since they were just as skilled, if not more than she was-
“Hello Whisper. I was expecting you.” A haughty laugh greeted her as an armored figure stood a few feet away, their sword tauntingly clicking against the surface of the train’s roof. “I am not sure whether I am honored or vexed that they sent you out to end my life. You know…I rather not fight you. It would be such a shame if anything happened to you considering-“ They paused, their eyes full of satisfaction yet remorse, “If some for reason this is the end, at least it will have been to you.”
A cryptic smile crossed Whisper’s lips as she pulled out her blades. “Well at least you know why I am here. Shall we get right to business or are do we really have to go through the cliché process of justifying why I should not kill you and I pretend like I care?”
They both chuckled over her words. Whisper was not going to kill them in cold blood like the rest of the twits she usually assassinated; this one deserved a better ending than that. But now, it was time- she had stalled long enough and they both knew it. Bidding each other a proper farewell, they bowed to each other-
Rising back up, Whisper gave her opponent one last smile before charging towards them-
“Honki deki de kudasai. Sana ato, shinimasuyo.”
(To be continued)
You know you are a badass when you can run and swordfight on top of a train moving 150-200 mph (240–320 kmh) without fear of falling off. Hardcore kunoichi is hardcore!
Well folks, Whisper is back from her hibernation and she is starting things off right where she left off last time: chasing after bad guys-
…or is this person really a bad guy? Hmm. I will not go into detail regarding the other character (Mostly because I know the majority of you do not even read my stories but only look at the art). But I will say this much: I really think the artist outdid him on this piece! I want to give a HUGE thank you to one of my favorite artists on this site jsa-arts. If you are not watching him, you need to go to his page right now and hit that “watch” button! His “sketches,” if you want to call them that, are absolutely incredible and he is wonderful to work with.
On a sidenote, for those of you wondering why I used the neutral pronoun such as “they” and “them” for Whisper’s opponent instead of a more gender specific pronoun like him or her in the short story, I have a good reason for doing so: later I plan on getting a follow up piece to this commission that will reveal whom Whisper is fighting (time and date to be determined so do not ask me when, haha). But in the meantime, I wish to leave the person and their gender as a cliffhanger. Do not worry, if the follow up goes through, I assure you, Whisper’s opponent will be very interesting and a worthy challenge!
Stay tuned for next time as Whisper continues her neverending hunt to take down the dark, corrupt underside ofthe furry community society~

Mhmm, indeed! I am glad you enjoyed the piece and story to go along with it. I cannot wait to finish the story with the followup piece (I have already discussed the details with the artist and it should be interesting).
I figured her reappearance needed to be something epic and fitting of her badass nature and JSA did not disappoint. Just wait until you see the next piece I will be posting (hopefully next week)- I really think you will like it!

Oh I will, I look forward to whom it is she fights.
By the way, how do you feel about this artist? http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/daq/

Haha, thank you! I'm glad you liked the piece and the mini story that went along with it. Still, all the thanks belongs to JSA- he really brings my girl to life with his style.
As I was telling train above, I've already spoken with the artist and it looks like the follow through is going to happen (woot!) I just need to save up a bit of money and the conclusion will be drawn. And I'm really excited for it to happen- Whisper's never had a real "enemy" come to life in art so it should be fun!
