So yesterday I took our dog Lance to the vet to see about getting im so arthritis medicine, and after an examination my vet said that he could possibly have cancer. Quite a jump, right? His spleen is enlarged and 4 out of 8 lymph nodes are swollen. While we are not 100% certain that is whats going on, there is a high probability that it is. Lance is..more or less doing fine (tho my anxiety has me thinking otherwise), but im not sure what this is going to mean for the future. I dont know what else to do. I know that we are never ready to say goodbye to our pets, no matter what, its hard. I could easily have much longer with Lance, but after what happened to Dora I worry that it may be much shorter. He's going in for a biopsy on thursday, until then its a waiting game..and im not very good at it.

In the meantime I just needed to vent these feelings. Im having a hard time functioning these past 24 hours, and thought that maybe getting this out might help. (which it did, a little!)


EDIT: After a scare last night, it seems Lance's health is slowly going downhill. We have opted not to do the biopsy as we are very sure now that it is cancer. We are setting him up on daily steroids as well as a couple other small medication but im afraid that this is the beginning of the end. The vet said we're looking at possibly 4-6 weeks..in the meantime we can only make him as comfortable as we can </3
