Heavy boots pounded against the steel plating floor of a badly maintained service corridor as three figures dashed through the half-light. Leading the charge was an augmented lynx, an arm replaced by hydraulics and synthetic muscle, and gripping barrel of her rifle tightly. Her combat jacket fluttered from her haste, while spare ammo mags clinked against each other on her belt. Her hazel eyes were fixated firmly on the end of the corridor ahead while listening to their path being dictated by their decker immediately behind her.
The horned vixen that was their Decker had a map of the complex displayed on her wrist computer and was occasionally calling out directions as they ran. Her blonde hair fluttered while her bag jangled noisily, a result of the sheer number of gadgets she had stowed in there.
Following up the rear, another vixen had her supressed SMG drawn across her chest, doing all she could to keep pace. A small spider drone skittered behind her, chirping nervously as its owner dashed down the hallway; clearly it was displeased with the speed it had to go, but it knew better than to complain.
As the trio neared the end of the corridor, their Decker called out, "Star! Left, then we're there!"
Star, their Street Samurai, slid around the corner and saw their objective: a large steel airlock, sealed shut and strangely enough, relatively unguarded. She pressed herself against the frame of the airlock as she readied her weapon, "How long, Feo?" she asked her companion, glancing between the door and the Decker.
Feo ripped off a loose panel from the wall to reveal all the wires and ports behind; some maintenance worker must have been sloppy. Whatever the reason, all the better for her! She reached into her satchel and pulled out her customised deck, before plugging it into the wall, "Gimme thirty seconds, they've got some crazy security here; each pin of the door is individually locked. Kylie, get your bot and get front and centre, there's no telling what'll be inside!"
Kylie, their Rigger and the last member of their trio, nodded and slipped past Feo into the hallway beyond. As she kneeled down and trained her SMG at the door, with her little drone doing the same, a thought crossed their minds: who knows what would be beyond this door, but with this much security guarding it, hopefully it'll net them a tidy profit on the black market!
