I won't discuss the complexity of France's defeat in Case "Yellow". The only thing I will say is that France did not change much from 1st WW to a newer kind of war type. They stuck with elderly officers and did not push forward that new officers and generals could get into power military wise. - Maybe as hint for you, some of the bunker areas the germans ran over did not even have a telefone array for contact. Also offtimes the soldiers were not "soldiers", rather lots of civilians recruted to defend the country... which is fatal when they have no idea what they are doing.
*cough* no rifles are working all 93 tornado jets can easily be hacked, lots of equipment is overaged as well as the officers... well yea great lead.
Luckily I don't have much to do with the Bundeswhere (pun intented) - my heart belongs to the Special Forces especially Airborne wise ^^
