The Lorax Quicksketch (Stump/tortillion practice)
Did something since it will be Earth Day soon. I had the idea of doing The Lorax so to warm-up my mind by doing a quick sketch on traditional paper. Purely used No. 2 pencil, I had also included stumps (or stomps) and tortillions for shading and more 3D look. I would have made the arm better, but this is just a speedy sketch. I feel that the stumps and tortillions are not a waste, and I will use them often for traditional art. On a scale of 6, I rate myself 5.5, improvements should be made, but this was primarily some practice on shading with these tools that are made of paper and spread marks for better definition of shading. The original was better than the scan-so the scanner gave no justice to the draw I made; however, I did do good in drawing him. Yes, let's be more careful about the environment...
