Nicholas quickly got used to Rachel being in his class. The vulpine learned she truly was a fun person to be around despite being a girl. Yuki was also like that as well as the bob cat ended up really being good at basketball. Even one of the females she hung out with ended up joining her at lunch and showed she was just as good. Of course, that was just at lunch since a lot more happened during the classes.
"Good morning class," the teacher said during the morning as always and the students responded back to her. She then turned to the board. “Now then to start our math time, let’s begin the day with a few new ones. What is 5 plus seven?” Nobody answered. “Come on children, don’t be shy; just give it your best shot.”
Nicholas then raised his paw and was called. “Seven?” he asked
“Very good!” the teacher replied.
“How did you do that?” Rachel asked, amazed at the vulpine.
“By my fingers,” he replied. “It just took me a bit.”
The teacher began to talk again so the two had to be quiet. But Rachel kept an eye on the little male. While he didn’t solve anymore math problems it seemed like the guy knew the answers. It left the bob cat impressed but wondering something. During a break Rachel was able to ask it. “Tell me, is there something you’re not good at?” she asked.
“Well for one thing I can’t jump rope,” he replied. “Then there’s science. I’m not so good at that.”
“Really?” Rachel stated. “But you seem so smart.”
“Well it’s like my dad and mom say; you’re good at some things and not so good at others.”
“I never thought of that.”
“Well what about you?”
“It’s hard to read,” the feline answered.
“Same here. But that’s not stopping me.”
Rachel couldn’t help but smile at the confidence in Jack’s voice. She liked that about the vulpine. During the day, she kept an eye on him and saw that science was a bit of a hard subject for the male. But that didn’t seem to get Jack down. And it was a good way for the bob cat to learn more about him. He in turn saw her struggling with writing to but that was okay since his writing in terms of forming the letters and words wasn’t any better. Still the vulpine silently observed this with learning about Rachel. But then the class ended up getting word about an exciting event that was happening at the beginning of next month.
“I can’t believe we’re heading to a zoo!” Rachel said with joy at the end of the fourth week.
“It’s pretty fun,” Yuki agreed. The friend of the bob cat name Maddie who was a coyote with blue eyes and was a bit quiet just nodded.
“Well I know what I’m doing right when I get home,” Jack commented and held up the permission slip in his right paw. The vulpine was true to his word and showed Topaz and Nicholas it.
“Ooh that’s like so wonderful!” his mother said after being told. “So exciting!”
“Well we’d better get you ready for it and signed,” his father commented. Jack grinned as he knew this was going to be fun.
