Man, these guys are overwhelmingly cute, but...
Becoming uselessly horny
That's the big downside to me. I wouldn't mind automatic devotion to a random doctor lady, but becoming too horny to do anything does not sound like fun (Although, I highly doubt anybody actually afflicted with such a condition would find it a problem).
I guess the goal of that is to produce so many Cherubee hosts that Succubats have nobody left to attach to?

There are 2 kinds of bee hosts. Some are so touch starved that all they want to do is cuddle, smooch, hug, and eat and stuff. They can KINDA do things? but if doing things needs them to stop cuddling, they're OUT. So like no driving or work. They can get more hive members purely by merit of cuddling asymbiotic people into submission so a bee can get in there. These are uselessly horny
The other kind are still touch starved and love getting hugs and cuddles and smooches and stuff, but they want to maximize snuggles, make the best snuggles they can, and get everyone in on it. They make sure the hive has honey, they can go out and find more hive members, they can plan, and do research, and do a lot of the things they love, but always with the goal of helping their beloved Dr. Vandal, and getting more cherubee hosts for more cuddling. These are productively horny.

Is it odd that this came out after I began playing with the idea for a scientist character? A PD that at first comes off as emotionless and refers to nearly everything beenign as an "experiment" when it comes to researching Succubats and Succubat hosts.
But when the heroes break into his lab complex, it is revealed he DOES in fact have some humanity as his subjects were willing participants and even scientists studying the effects of symbiosis and developing ways to create an edible substance that can feed the Queens and Crown Crabs with little substance. (Sort of like the ultimate protein shake that curbs hunger for a while to enjoy life without having a roaring stomach asking for food). And not only that, actually tends to several interconnected enclosures that mimic different biomes for the succubats to roam freely and for him to study their preferred environments. His facility even holds an apartment complex for symbionts and the queen.
Which the reason he's interested is because he has cybernetic enhancements that would sever his spinal cord if forced out of his body and he was bitten MULTIPLE times only for the batties to stop as they became aware that this host is a no go. His goals ultimately became Understand and help hosts.

Officially, he was government funded to experiment on the succubats. But because this guy has a very loose meaning for that word and the officials didn't specify what kind of experiments, hes taken a more ethical approach after meeting with a queen who volunteered.
To her surprise he was very kind in his studies making sure succubats were comfortable and well fed. To the point that some bats even roost on his body when he studies the swabbings from their fangs. She was more surprised that he didn't seem phased by the fact that occasionally staff become hosts on occasion. As if he didn't notice that they changed.
Though occasionally he'll ask for hosts (after finally realizing they were a host as he didn't seem to notice) for physical examinations. The examinations themselves are in no way painful. Mostly just tracking mutation patterns and seeing how the hosts physically changed in terms of endurance and agility.
