These aren't purebred Siberian Huskies, you know. XD So not so similar to Malamutes.
Though Malamutes used to be used for sledding and as "pack mules", until the breed was standardized, and some of the characteristics of the standardized breed ended up being more for looks than for function. So Malamutes ended up being not as good sled dogs or pack dogs. For instance, the curled tail is for looks. It means the back is shorter and they're not as good runners.
