This was, I think, my best freehand work ever. His name is Legion, a mage NPC I created who appeared in one incarnation or another in several games. Basic concept was his Avatar, the part of the soul that allows a mage to use magic, had somehow fused with his physical body, and every so often he was forced to assume the avatar's form. As a side effect, he no longer needed to worry about being affected by Paradox, the force in the modern world that tries to snuff out anything that defies the generally accepted reality in the area. Instead he was affected by Scourge, that which later turned into paradox, which rewards or punishes mages who use their powers too openly for too long, depending on fate's fickle whim.
