Actually, listening to the song, "rules" takes up two beats, so 2 syllables would fit perfectly.
However, also upon listening to the song, I also realized that the first word is "We're", not "I'm". Apparently I've been trying to block that song out so much that the first few beats are all I know too well(before closing the window suddenly). Oh well, not worth fixing.
